Of all of the videos from Washington, where the Occupy DCers decided to use little kids to do their "dirty work", I hate these folks the most.
HEY – STOOPID PEOPLE, YOU DON’T GET BROWNIE POINTS FOR DELIBERATELY PUTTING LITTLE KIDS IN HARMS WAY – AND THEM BLAME OTHER PEOPLE FOR WHATEVER HAPPENS!
I am only semi-happy to report that the kids only got frightened and not hurt but ONLY because they shouldn’t have been there in the first place! Where was this mother’s sense of being a Mama Grizzly – you protect your kids at all costs! What kind of moron does this (regardless of political stripe)????
To date, this is one of the most dismaying and disheartening videos made of the Occupy DC vids I have seen. Dispicable.
In short, what the Occupy DCers did at the Americans for Prosperity event in DC this past weekend was not a "sit in", this was a "hostage taking" situation whereby the Occupy DC mob decided that they had the right to restrict the movements of not only the people inside simply because they disagreed with them politically. They also stopped people simply because they were driving by and (in the opinion of the Occupiers) were driving luxury vehicles. Imagine of TEA Partiers had done this? This is not "This is what democracy looks like" – this is a mob that ditches common decency – including the well being of little kids – to make the political point of the day. This was not political theater – this was a mob that decided that the means justified the end – but were clueless as to what their end really is (except they became their own a***s)
But this shows the depths of the Occupiers in two modes:
- The cavalier attitude of a mother willing to place her young children in harms way simply to make a political point. If TMEW (with all due respect) had EVER done something like this, I would have grabbed the kids, headed off to the hinterlands, and she would never had the chance to endanger them again. You just don’t DO this!
I have often said that ADULTS should protest, argue, and scream at each other – leave kids alone and out of it. I have also said this to Conservatives on multiple occasions. Kids are to be protected and not be used as mere pawns. They do not have the cognitive ability or the life experience – they end up merely mouthing what they are told by authority figures, believing that anything from such MUST be true.
What do YOU say when parents DELIBERATELY put their kids into a position where they could get hurt – and hold themselves blameless?
- And one of the "mothers" basically screaming at the camera "WE ARE PROTESTING – WE ARE THE 99%!" and then getting real downright NASTY and UGLY when confronted on it.
This, to me, has degenerated into idiocy. They have taken their own marketing brand, the 99%, internalized, and then have morphed into believing that it absolves them of any malfeasance simply because they are convinced that being the 99% means that any action is possible.
Llet’s break it down:

0:19 Mom starts screaming "no justice, no peace" yet she’s not acting in a peaceful manner as she flips the bird to the door. Videographer begins to question her "Why are you using children like this to try to blockade a door?"
0:32 As if this covers all ills: "This is a protest" and "The police are the only ones that have harmed them"
0:44 Ugly Nasty Mom(?) gets REAL angry "This is a F*****G PROTEST!…WE ARE THE 99% AND WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO SPEAK UP!" When pressed on why they are using children, the response is "THey are our future" (with a rather confused look on face, knowing she has no answer" – or, all of a sudden, knowing that her pre-programmed answer made no sense at all but didn’t know else to think).
1:09 Finger pointing time…black dude comes in with the race card – the MLK / dogs / hose – defense (funny, he didn’t look that old to be a child of the 60s). Added: "Regulate your guards, especially if children are there!" I really like the deflection: even as his side uses kids, and the videographer is concerned about the kids, the black dude calls him an "unconcerned human" and "you are not a man".
