There’s a story in today’s Union Leader about a former male violent felon convict who has turned into a femalen and is engaged to be married to a divorced male who has a child, but the mother of the child doesn’t want the former male felon to spend time with the child,… And now the courts are getting involved….
But that’s not the most heart-rending part of the story. In the online comments after the news article is another individual who recounts his own struggle with being born into the wrong body. Here’s what he says:
What I think is the true crime is the lack of attention my "sickness" has gotten by the press. I am what is called "trans-racial". As Donna so eloquently pointed out, "Transgender persons are simply born into bodys that were not ment for." Well the same is for me, as a trans-racial. I am Latino-Asian who was born into the wrong body (that of a white man). I can never be a whole person, since I will always be stuck in this white skin. The support group that I go to is some help, and it has made me realize how lucky I truly am. There is one guy there that is actually trans-species. He really is a green wing macaw stuck in the body of a 38 year old Cuban man. When will society recognize our disorders? Are they any less serious and real than those of the transgendered?
