One of the last items that happens at the last session of RightOnline is the announcement of where Netroot Nation is going to be next year. Yes, I typed that right. The reason for that is the Conservative conference, RightOnline, is held where Netroots Nation will be – Austin, TX and then Pittsburgh, PA followed by Las Vegas last year and Minneapolis this year. And true to form, Erik Telford announced that NN11 was going to be held in Providence, RI next year.
GREAT! was my first thought – I can drive down and not bother with the hassles of flying. Well, it seems that the MoveOn.org kiddos can’t stand the heat – their Exec Dir. deliberately held it in a SMALL market and then paid lots to get anti-compete contracts sign with other properties to lock out RightOnline and tweeted out:
Good luck finding a venue in 2012 #ro11 folks. Two words, non-compete clause. Hugs and kisses #nn11
Can’t stand the competition, it seems. It certainly looked like the RO folks were the happy campers while the NN gang just seemed angry. Thus, this by Instapundit won’t lift their spirits but seems to correctly and completely describes their spirits:
Run away! Run away, Netroots!
