Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) has just announced that he is going to be announcing his run for the Presidency on Saturday. Other than appealing to the "Red Eye" crowd (a Fox news program hosted by Greg Guttfield and on which McCotter is a frequent guest due to his VERY dry wit).
He knows the issues and the ‘Grok has a bunch of posts where we have either had him on our old radio show Meet The New Press (here, here ), when he was against then President Bush going to the Bejing Olympics (here, here, here ) seen him at TEA Party events (here, here, here, here ), blogger interviews (here), misc (here, ), or part time Grokster Andrew Hemingway covering him (here, here, here, here, here, here).
My, that’s a whole lot more than I thought! BUT! The ‘Grok is closing in on 8,900 posts – which means we’ve probably yakked about almost every issue and well known politicians around. So, if we sound a tad self-referential, well, we are.
My question will be – what is his constituency? Sure, he has spoken at TEA Party events, but is he a TEA Partier? He’s been in politics a long while now – does that make him Establishment? Special interest? Dunno. Or is this a prep for a future time? Dunno about that either….
But, the more the merrier!
