Well, on the heels of the "mispokens" by Newt, I said that the walkbacks would start. Then this came out:

A lesser person could not have survived the first few minutes of the onslaught. But out of the billowing smoke and dust of tweets and trivia emerged Gingrich, once again ready to lead those who won’t be intimated by the political elite and are ready to take on the challenges America faces.”

- "Washington cannot tolerate threats from outsiders": HOW much of an outside can a Speaker of the House be? Sure, he has been that for a long time, but please spare us the spin
- " The firefight started when the cowardly sensed weakness": No, people are no longer willing to tolerate the stupid. Especially when the stupid start advocating stuff that for which Progressives are advocating. Frankly, even as Newt keeps advocating for new paradigms, he got caught in three that he hasn’t internalized:
- 24 hour news cycle turned on him
- The Internet where an Army of Davids are crowdsourcing every word and fact behind them
- The TEA Party movement that has activated a whole bunch of people that refuse to be silent anymore. We all know you all put your pants on just like us (and yes, resisting the second part that would make a lame joke).
I was interviewed by Tony Katz of PJTV for a segment of The Conversation along with Craig Robinson of The Iowan Republican about the Prez Primary follies; it seems like Iowans are as amorous of Newt as New Hampshire-ites are (which is to say, not much).
But the thing that has my eyebrow raised was this: Huffington Post? Really? Good show, there Rick – run right over to a site that many of us on the Right automatically think "er, not one of us’.
May want to reconsider that choice in the future there, old boy. Trying to defend your boss against other Republicans on a left leaning site is not going to help you or your boss.
Believe it.
If you want me to ‘splain it to you, have Newt squeeze a bit closer to Nancy on the couch so I can sit down – this might take a while…
