GrokTV Event – DJ Bettencourt

Two, at once!  I caught DJ Bettencourt’s speech to the assembled House speaking in favor of the HB1 (the budget) just before the Representatives voted on it.  Frankly, having never been in the House as a bill was being debated, it was a rather interesting day (although, a lot of time was spent outside the chambers after receiving  Press Accreditation.

Also, having just been through a long day, DJ was kind enough to spend a few moments for a ‘Grok MicroInterview:

You know, he’s under a whole lot of heat from people trying to make political points over what he said about Bishop McCormick.  Not being Catholic, I don’t have a dog in that fight (other than it DOES seem that McCormick has been living in a glass house for a while and throwing the stone he did on Thursday was not a wise thing – you come into the political kitchen, expect to be burnt!).  Not being Politically Correct (or better put, enjoying being Politically Incorrect simply to annoy Liberals and Progressives and the occasional Republican) I briefly left this on DJ’s FB page:

The archdioces said this "The church and our broader society have a fundamental obligation to care for the poor." Once again, we see the FLAW of the Left in automatically defining broader society as including Govt. Our Founding Fathers believed that Govt should be treated as APART from society – why else would they have put as many firewalls as they did between WE and the Feds?

McCormick is simply lapsing into the old European model of Govt where the Catholic church told Govt what to do. He has forgotten that Jesus came for the individual, and taught individuals, and sacrificed Himself for individuals – not for the collective and not for Govt.

I’ll speak more to this later on today but frankly, I’ve heard much worse said about both the Catholic church and other issues by those now yammering for DJ’s scalp. Thus, this is ONLY about trying to muzzle someone because they don’t agree with him in general – those two words are simply an excuse for an attack.

To those folks, I say: Hahahahahaha!  Drive yourselves into a dither!  And always remember what the Head of the NH Democrat Party has done and said.  If yer gonna chew out DJ, don’t stop there, call out Ray Buckly and those that support him for what he has said and done too.
