The RLCNH Report

March 20, 2011

ACTION ALERT!
Stand up for New Hampshire!
HCR 19, which reasserts New Hampshire’s sovereignty, and HB 590, which provides a constitutional check on federal control through funds distribution, both have executive committee hearings this Tuesday. Please contact the committee and ask them to vote OTP (Ought To Pass) on both. See below for more info.

Restrict growth of government
CACR 6, which would require a 3/5 vote in the House to raise taxes, was voted on and then tabled last week, but is coming back to the floor this week. There are a number of Republicans who voted against it in last week’s vote. Please email all representatives at HReps@leg.state.nh.us and ask them to support this constitutional amendment. Also, contact the Republicans who voted against it (see below) and apply some pressure. This is a core Republican issue, and every Republican should support this effort!

CACR 12 passed the house last week and is going to the senate. Please e-mail your senator and ask them to amend the bill to remove state control of the curriculum.

HCR 19 is a resolution that asserts state sovereignty. It’s a small step in standing up to the federal government. There is an executive session on Tuesday, March 22nd.  Consider E-mailing the committee before this session to show your support. Be aware that Dan Itse, the main sponsor, is requesting a turnout at the state house on Wednesday March 30th in support of HCR 19.

HB 590 deals with unconstitutional bribes that the federal government gives the states. If HB 590 passes, there will be a constitutional check on what the federal government pays New Hampshire to do. Please show your support for HB 590 before the executive session on Tuesday March 22nd.

(There is no e-mail address for the Constitutional Review committee, but individual committee member contact info is available on the committee’s web page.)
