As we prepare for battle over budget and entitlement reform, we must remember who originally orchestrated our fiscal ruin. We must ‘pin the tail on the donkey’. Let’s punish the plunderers, not the new generation of taxpayers.
To be sure, Republicans must share the blame: They have been complicit—and not infrequently eager facilitators—in driving America to its knees over the past 80 years. But let us be frank, and let us be explicit: It is Democrats who have led in destroying America’s prosperity. It is the Democratic Party that has brought America to the brink of fiscal ruin.
