I opened the card, and here is the hypocrisy:
Now, I have no problem in someone sending me a Christmas card – I actually like receiving them (although, truth be told, I did a lousy job at sending ANY out this year). And if you don’t know me, and want to send me a card – SURE THING!
Here’s the bottom line – DON’T make the first Christmas card you send me an expression of a political outcome just because (since I am a Member of the NH GOP that can vote for the NH GOP Chair)! Look, I really don’t know her, have never met her (that I can remember – which is not always a telling sign (me remembering, that is)). This despoils the actual meaning of the season. People complain about the commercialization? Consider this double for politicization of the season just so that you can add a title to your name. It’s OK if I signed up for an email list, or to be a supporter, or that I’m actually a friend or acquaintance of your’s. No, it doesn’t ask for my vote, or anything else, but why ELSE would she send me a Christmas card, for the very first time, other than to engender a positive political feeling towards her name?
I do consider this crass, cynical, and political self-aggrandizement.
At least Steve Duprey, angling to become the NH RNC Committeeman, sent a letter clearly stating what he is running for and why I should consider voting for him. Properly done, sir!
