Other people’s money…

College students in Britain are mad as hell, and they aren’t going to take it anymore!  The British government has the audacity to TRIPLE public university tuition – how can they do this?  The increase is a huge, riotous tripling of yearly costs, from 3000 pounds to 9000 pounds.  It’s absolutely ludicrous.

So, let me take out my little pounds-to-dollars calculator to put this in perspective.  Wait, that’s can’t be right…let me try it again.  No, no, can’t be right – $14,500 US ??

They are rioting over $14,500 annual university tuition?  The tuition for ITT Technical Institute is more than that, at $25,000!

Until now, I thought of the Brits as the "other Europeans", the ones who where different, more like us, fairly liberty minded and nowhere near as socialist as the lost countries of France and Ireland, or post-fascist Spain, Italy, and Greece.  Germany is the only other European country I gave any credit to, for their reluctance to drink the full pitcher of EU kool-aid – apparently I was wrong.

Listen up, you snot-nosed, indignant children of British socialism – your parents and grandparents have taken your country to the brink of fiscal and social ruin, after OUR grandparents gave their lives to keep Hitler and the Axis from rebuilding the Roman Empire over your entire insipid continent.  OUR country paid billions and billions to rebuild your country, and the rest of starving, destroyed Europe via the Marshall Plan, and we still are, via our substantial IMF contributions – talk about a BAD investment.

And you are throwing paint, breaking windows, and kicking Police officers over $14,500??  Give me a big, freaking break, you spoiled Euro-brats.

I’m sitting here today, trying to figure out how to pay for my three sons’ college over the next 2-9 years – get this, and sit down, because it will cost me (and them) a sum total of about $275,000 (for non-Ivy schools).  It will probably be even more than that, as tuition rates are increasing rapidly here every year.

I suggest you get used to this, because, as your esteemed Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher said, "Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They always run out of other people’s money. It’s quite a characteristic of them."  As with all Socialist countries, yours is running out of money and you’ll soon have to start figuring out how to work, or borrow, for your college education.

I suggest that you learn to love Daniel Hannan.  He may be your saviour.
