Well, I took a little break from the whirlwind of the campaign trail – back on it today. The ‘Grok has been invited by the Frank Guinta for US Congress (NH CD-1) to attend this lunchtime fundraising event in Manchester at the Radisson. As usual, if WiFi is available and accessible, we’ll live stream the event (and tweet out anything "special"):
Special guest is Minnesota Governor, Tim Pawlenty. While the above title may be a bit premature, he is the founder of the Freedom First PAC – and has already established a presence here in NH (hi Luke!).
It should be rather intesting – am wondering if he’ll have any suggestions for the inrush of Republican legislators and Governor coming into power on November 2. Why do I say this? He already faced the trap, in MN, that the NH Democrats have laid in for the Republicans: debt load, miserable budget mess. The Democrat expectation is that the only way out is to raise taxes high (think a sales and / or an income tax) or severely cut services; either way, the Democrats expect to make political hay and blame, blame, blame the Republicans all day (and night) long for a good long time.
