GrokTalk! – A Plethora of Politics on a Road Trip!

GrokTalk!

Saturday morning at 9 – 11 am!

GrokTalk!

A mixture of politics, culture, current events, and well, politics, it is an Internet Radio show streaming live audio and video directly from GraniteGrok.  Using a solidly Conservative and Rational Libertarian lens, we’ll take on almost any topic and have notables from the news, political figures, authors, and other opinionated folks for your edification and amusement.

The live audio stream is located here and the live video stream will go live as well.  Podcasts will also be available after the show (usually within a day or so).

This week, Groksters Skip, Steve, Tim, and Tom are doing a "remote" from the NH GOP Convention at the Concord Capital Center for the Arts – it shall be interesting as the Platform is under consideration.  Currently scheduled guests are:

A candidate for NH Senate District 4, Jim is a multi-faceted person:

  • Educator: Earning a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University, Jim taught at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
  • Military: A KC-135 pilot and aircraft commander in the US Air Force.
  • Entrepreneur as a part owner,he performed cutting edge research in computational fluid dynamics. His experiences with government regulation, the tax code, and big bureaucracy have reinforced his belief in the urgent need to reform and downsize government.
  • Activism: Jim is the former Chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus in NH, and the NH Republican Liberty PAC, supporting pro-liberty candidates for the NH House.

Andy Sanborn is a 4th generation New Hampshire native.  A graduate of New England College in Henniker NH, he focused his business degree on Finance, Economics, and Marketing.  After college, Mr. Sanborn spent 15 years working in the New Hampshire Commercial Lending industry  and he finished his corporate finance career overseeing a large international leasing company.

Today, Andy and his wife, Laurie (who is running for the NH House), are involved in several industries, including R & D manufacturing in the automotive industry, real estate development, financial consulting and is the owner of The Draft in Concord called .

  • NH GOP meeting – well, it’s where we’ll be and given the number of folks strolling through the halls, who the heck knows who will stop by to yak?  We’ll talk to anyone and everyone – and argue if that’s what is called for too! While Mitt Romney is the keynote speaker, we’re more interested in what is going on in state right now as NH is Washington, DC in miniature.
  • News and events of the day:
  • You know, we never did talk about these – we’ll bring them up: Awards for the just completed Primaries here in NH – who gets what?  And why?
  • NH GOP Platform – well, what does a TEA Party outlook say about it (NH GOP Establishment or Grassroots friendly)?
  • Democrat NH Gov. Lynch is still trying to pull an Obama and steal that which is not the State’s – the attempted rewrite of the rules governing who controls the $100 million of the Joint Underwriter Association (the malpractice $$ that the NH Supreme Court already said "NO!" to)
  • Ad hoc – who knows where the ‘Grok will go!

Get INVOLVED!  We’re still feeling our way a bit technically – given the problems this week with our live streaming site, UStream.tv, we’re hoping for the best. Send us your emails at GrokTalk@GraniteGrok.com or follow us on Twitter (follow the hash tag #grok) and on FaceBook.

WHEW! It all starts at 9AM EST – 11am Saturday. Tune in live on the ‘Net here… We will be the place to be!
