The following was published in the Citizen newspaper as a letter to the editor. The message is worth sharing…
Many, many years ago in America we didn’t use words "pro choice" or "pro life". We didn’t have to. The law protected human life and that was that. Most mothers (dare I say all) knew their babies were human and they "ate for two" (as the saying was at the time). There was no drug problem to speak of. Most women knew not to smoke while pregnant, and drinking alcohol was pretty much not done, even though in general, people didn’t know the damage alcohol could cause a baby.
Everything has changed over the years. There is an entity today that supports and encourages women to have their preborn babies killed, and a great number of people are without peace and are not happy.
I was watching a movie the other day, and in that movie a lot of people were dying at the hands of men with artillery. I thought that if every one of those men (including the victims) were to put God first in their lives and trust Him above everything, there would be no killing at all. It seemed the whole scene would never have occurred. It’s very probable the same scenario could happen with the killing of an unborn or partially born baby. If people put their trust in God and love Him above all else, obeying His Commandments, the pregnancies that result in abortion would never come about, and the planned deaths would not, also. A good moral life can eliminate a great deal of truly destructive and ugly behavior. A good moral life can bring true happiness and peace of heart in this world, and that is rare indeed.
