NHAC issues a re-election challenge to Governor John Lynch:
Sign NHAC’s “Defending the New Hampshire Advantage Pledge” to curb state spending

Manchester, NH – On May 20th 2008, NHAC introduced its “Defending the New Hampshire Advantage Pledge”. The pledge simply asks candidates and elected officials to reasonably curb spending to the rate of inflation. As of today, Governor Lynch has yet to join the seventy candidates and/or elected officials that have already signed the pledge. This impressive list includes Lynch’s only announced opponent Senator Joe Kenney.

“New Hampshire taxpayers deserve to know where Governor Lynch stands on this important issue. New Hampshire’s spending grew by a half of billion dollars during the last budget cycle, giving us a deficit and making us one of the top spending states in the country.” said Mike Biundo, NHAC Chairman.   “New Hampshire taxpayers are increasingly frustrated by the overspending, posturing and false rhetoric of the current state leadership. It has become trendy to say you’re for low taxes, or even against a sales or income tax.  Now, we beg the question; are you going defend the NH advantage and keep spending reasonable or not. The problem is once they are elected; too many officials forget that it’s the taxpayers’ money that they are spending.  The only path to low taxes is an efficient government that is always looking for ways to control spending.”

The New Hampshire Advantage Coalition will be asking all candidates and current office holders to sign this pledge to defend our New Hampshire Advantage. We will be educating New Hampshire voters on where each of their representatives and candidates stand on this important issue.
