Put me on this guy’s Christmas card list…
WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 /U.S. Newswire/ — An armed sleigh-borne Santa Claus zeroes in on Iranian and North Korean nuclear missiles in a postal Christmas card sent this month to government officials and others..John M. Snyder mailed the cards to the president, vice president, Cabinet and members of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.."What finer gift could Santa bring peaceful citizens against those who would destroy our culture, freedom and way of life?" asked Snyder. "Guns save lives, and Santa and many other men and women of good will know how to use them.".The card depicts Santa Claus, armed with a pistol in each hand, firing from his reindeer-drawn sleigh at missiles marked "Iran" and "North Korea." The card includes verse three of Psalm 35: "Lift up your sword and war ax against those who pursue me.".It offers recipients "best wishes for a safe Christmas and a victorious New Year."
Seriously, he’s right. Look at the folks being overcome and murdered in Darfur. If these people were armed, they could somehow at least try to defend themselves.
.
And what of the Iranians and the North Koreans- charter members of the axis-of evil? President Bush continues to say quite plainly that we can’t allow the Iranians to get a nuclear bomb. North Korea? Shouldn’t we blow up any missile at the launch pad, rather than trying to shoot it out of the sky?
.
What risk are we willing to take to avoid confrontation with these two enemy countries? The loss of a US city? Let’s not forget Hugo Chavez, either. Could his country provide some 21st century "Missiles of October" situation?
.
It’s not a pretty picture out there in the world. It might get worse. Will a pre-emptive strike cause short-term turmoil and angst? You bet. Not doing anything to avoid the pain might result in far worse down the road. We can’t take that chance. Bush knows this, I think.
.
Merry Christmas & bombs away…
