If Atheist’s believe that there can be no God, or that there is no God, wouldn’t the absence of evidence of belief in God be a testament to the belief system of non-believers?  You know, the way darkness is evidence of the absence of light.  You need creation to make light, but darkness is just there.

I guess that wasn’t good enough for some atheists in Florida.  These clever folks have placed a monument to…Atheism.

A group of atheists unveiled a monument to their non-belief in God Saturday to sit alongside a granite slab that lists the Ten Commandments in front a Florida courthouse.

All in all, I don’t much care what they think they don’t believe in.  And I mean that sincerely.  I had my own brush with agnosticism, atheism, the search for non-faith, and so on.  It is alluring and you get your weekends off.   But it is aligned with progressivism, socialism, and state power over all things.  It lends itself to the kind of thinking we’ve got in Washington right now.

The Egyptian military has removed Mohammed Morsi as President and suspended the Constitution.  The head of the Constitutional Court will serve as an interim leader while new elections are scheduled.  The military also indicated that changes made to the Egyptian Constitution by Morsi would be rolled back.

The military has publicly announced its coup and instructed the people to continue their peaceful protests as credible leaders are gathered to form a more diverse government that represent all of the people.  Violent protests, however, will be met with force.

Truth, treason and the empire of lies

Gun people don’t trust anti-gun people because they are purposely misleading to rile the emotions of the ignorant. We don’t trust anti-gunners because they say more than 30,000 people are killed each year by guns — a fact that is technically true, but the key piece of information withheld is that only a minor fraction of that number is murder; the majority is suicides and accidents. We don’t trust anti-gunners because we know accidents and suicides don’t count in the crime rate, but they’re held against us as if they do.

A dangerous servant and fearful master

Gun people don’t trust anti-gun people because they completely ignore the fact that true conservatism is about, in part, the preservation of traditions and long-standing principles. We don’t trust anti-gunners because the American Revolution was kicked off by an attempt at gun control when the British marched to Concord to seize the colonists’ muskets and powder. Since the shot heard ‘round the world was fired on Lexington Green, the possession of a firearm has been the mark and symbol of a citizen, distinguishing them from a subject of a monarchy or tyrannical government. We don’t trust anti-gunners because they prefer the post-modern world where anything means anything, and they therefore don’t understand the power of or need for the preservation of traditions — or at least, ones of which they don’t personally approve.

True “equality,” when it comes to marriage, can never be anything less than any two (or more) people (or life forms) who claim they wish to be legally joined by marriage, enjoying the tax free benefits of same.   What is to stop any two people from declaring their interest in being “joined” for tax (or insurance) purposes to distant enough family members–until such time as that bigotry and inequality is legally banished (allowing marriage between close family members)–two business partners, an adult and a child (likely related)–another bigoted prohibition from ancient days–to whom they could then pass on their accumulated wealth and assets….with significant tax advantages?

It’s actually tax-evasion marriage.

So is same sex marriage just a plot by the uber-wealthy (or the wealthy enough) to pass their wealth to another without doing their “patriotic duty” and paying the Federal ferryman its predetermined and significant cut (by law) of the value of all assets upon death–a taxing feature (not a bug) that the same-sex supporting liberal-progressive-Democrats are also in favor of?

The West Virgina Student, Jared Marcum, who was suspended for one day for wearing an NRA T-shirt to school and refusing to take it off or turn it inside out, who then wore it to school again after his suspension and was then charged with obstruction by a local prosecutor…will not be charged.

So get a load of this…

On June 17^th, Logan County prosecutors charged Marcum with obstructing a police officer, claiming that Marcum had hindered the responding officer’s ability to do his job by “interrupting” and refusing to be quiet when told to do so. The charge carried with it the possibility of incarceration in a juvenile facility. In contesting the charge, White noted that “In my view of the facts, Jared didn’t do anything wrong,” going on to say, “I think [the officer] could have done something differently.”

So they wanted to incarcerate this kid in a juvenile facility for talking out of turn?  Riiigghhht!

Death by a thousand cuts

Gun people don’t trust anti-gun people because anti-gunners always talk about 90 percent of Americans supporting this gun control measure, or 65 percent supporting that one, as if a majority opinion is what truly matters in America. We don’t trust anti-gun people because you think America is a democracy, when it’s actually a constitutional federal republic. In the American system, the rights of a single individual are what matters and are what our system is designed to protect. The emotional mob does not rule in America.

Almost?

Not only does he do an excellent job of covering the topic, there are scores of links to articles and useful reference material on the subject.  As a hobby-blogger, that alone warrants an immense amount of respect.  (Research and linking can be very time consuming and tedious).  So over the next few days I will post portions of this piece–assuming no one objects–for your consumption and debate.

No experience necessary

In the gun debate, I’ve discovered that one cannot be expert enough about guns. Indeed, when it comes to the gun issue, opinion rules. There doesn’t seem to be any opportunity for any genuine, honest debate on guns, and even liberals would agree with that. I’ve often wondered about this over the years. Is it because my side of the debate is actually loony? I don’t think so; at least, I think I’m pretty normal. Sure, we’ve got some oddballs we all wish would go away, just like any group does.

When is someone going to sue the state of Connecticut for public endangerment and as an accomplice to murder?

Children are dead because of a policy agenda, sold to the people as a better guarantee of safety, enforced by the police state, that intentionally disarmed its citizens, and clearly identified the places where they would be most vulnerable, leaving them helpless and vulnerable to attack.

With or without government human beings have a natural right to defend their lives (their friends and families, and those in their charge) from anyone or anything that would try to take it.  The state of Connecticut, and many others, have actively sought to deny you that right under the false pretense that they could or would accept responsibility for protecting you anywhere and everywhere that those natural rights were denied by force of law.
