Extreme Cold Culls Herd – Beef Prices On The Rise

Global cooling is having an effect on the price of beef.  The longer, colder winters have shrunk herds to levels not seen since 1951, according to the LATimes. (Note that the LAT blames ‘extreme weather.’) That means higher meat prices for consumers already burdened by high food inflation and soaring energy prices.  Thank God we … Read more

Strong Reliance on Property Taxes Still A Winner For New Hampshire

NH Democrats fleece taxpayers againI have long remarked on how the relying on property taxes keeps the total tax burden down because when you see the taxes you pay in a lump sum (or two lump sums) you are more likely to inquire as to why you are paying that much and to what end.  This ‘interest’ in the machinations of government is what keeps the total tax burden lower.

And while one-sixth of all taxes are property based, New Hampshire citizens still rank as one of the least taxed states in the nation.

According to Census Bureau data, New Hampshire collected $1,791 in taxes per person in 2013. Only Florida ($1,769) and Georgia ($1,781) were lower.

Massachusetts collected almost twice as much: $3,571.

Maine collected $2,924 per person while Vermont collected $4,594

Sales and income taxes remove transparency by funneling tens of millions to the state capitol by pinching every transaction.  The sums add up but on their own seem insignificant at the time.  It is just another line on the paycheck or at the bottom of the receipt.

If We Use the Democrat Meme – “If We could Only Save One Life….”

stiletto-heels-shoes-skull_075350…at any moment now we should see outraged liberals unleash an avalanche of legislation at the state and federal level placing restrictions on heel length, how many sets of shoes you can own, nights out, boyfriends, arguments, drinking, and while we’re at it, the month of June.

HOUSTON (Reuters) — A Texas jury found a woman guilty on Tuesday of beating her boyfriend to death with a 5-1/2-inch spikeheeled stiletto shoe during an argument after a night out drinking in June. Prosecutors said Ana Trujillo, 45, stabbed University of Houston professor Stefan Andersson, 59, about two dozen times in the face and head with the shoe.

Union Flack Brian Rapp – The Oracle of What Is And Is Not ‘Political’

twitter-logo-breakBrian Rapp is the President of IAFF Local 1571, serves on the Claremont School Board, NH Healthtrust Board of Dir. , and gets slimy tweets from all the best left-wing hypocrites in New Hampshire.  So when he accuses someone else of making “deaths” or ‘Injuries’ political…

You’d be right to assume that he did it first…

Here’s how it started.  A Republican candidate tweets thoughts and prayers to victims and families from Fort Hood.  Nothing unusual about that.  It’s just out there.  But Rapp can’t leave it alone…

Screwy Lewis – In The News

How about a little credit everyone.

I believe I was the first one to label Superior Court Judge John Lewis as “Screwy Lewis”.

Having dealt with this arrogant, self-important, over-educated progressive judge for a number of years it is wholeheartedly rewarding to have the general public catch a glimpse of what his “court room” was like.

Lewis “accepted” a reprimand from the NH court powers-that-be and retired early. (Laugh track here.)

Screwy Lewis was the guy who tried to make sure that Obama had plenty of college student voters in September of 2012 when he signed on to a NH League of Liberal Women Voters petition to create “mobile domiciled voters” and then dragged the case out past the election – where it still hangs.

Celebrate National Equal Pay Except at The White House Day….

Alternate Title: Obama Must have given himself a waiver….Or did he just vote ‘Present?’ The no-spin reality is that free people make choices every day, and those choices affect everything, including wages.  I know a lot of women who make a lot more than I do.  I do not blame the system because I know … Read more

If There Is No Vote Fraud, Then Sign Us Up For The Cross-Check To Prove It!

If you could just stop letting out of staters vote from your house that'd be greatNorth Carolina ran a cross check of registered voters in their state and came up with some startling conclusions.  Over 155,000.00 registerd voters appear as registered in any of the dozens of other states that participated.  Dead voters, non-resident voters, voters who climb on rocks, fat voters, skinny voters, even voters with chickenpocks….You name it.  They had it.

The evidence suggests that the voter rolls are polluted and need to be cleaned up to ensure that folks in the towns, cities, and counties of that state know that the people voting have the skin in the game.  That their elections are clean and represent the will of the people who live there.

Democrats are looking at this and saying, doesn’t prove anything.  There is no vote fraud–

Julie “Four States” Tries To Divert Attention

In a desperate attempt to shift Attention from Democrat Jeanne Shaheen’s unwavering support for ObamaDemocratCare, transient Democrat spokesperson, Julie “Four States In Four Years” McClain, tosses a class envy, anti-big oil press release bone to the partisans in her party.

How sad is that?

Come on, sell that tax cut, keep your doctor, free health insurance program in New Hampshire Senator Shaheen!

Here is what “Four States” offers in its stead: Brown did Wall Street’s Bidding Before, and They Want Him Again

Jeanne Shaheen – A Strong Independent Voice for NH? Not so Much…

It adds a whole new meaning to ‘We are the 99%’ when a multi-millionaire-one-percenter like Shaheen votes with the destructive Obama ruling class agenda 99% of the time after she said she’d be a strong independent voice for NH.  Heck, she even repeated the ruling class ObamaCare lies?  Independent?  From what, Reality? Not Unexpectedly – Democrats & Media Lied About IRS Targeting Left Wing Groups

“IRS agents testified before Congress that the agency’s political targeting did not apply to progressive groups as Democrats and the media have claimed,…” “Only seven applications in the IRS backlog contained the word ‘progressive,’ all of which were then approved by the IRS, while Tea Party groups received unprecedented review and experienced years-long delays. Concealed Carry Weapons Laws Lower Murder Rates

gun control c/o John Hinderaker at Powerline.

Economist Mark Gius has a new study in the journal Applied Economics Letters that bears on the gun control debate. Gius finds that permissive concealed carry laws (generally, “shall issue”) result in a lower rate of homicide involving firearms. Conversely, state-level assault weapons bans have no statistically significant effect on the homicide rate involving guns.

And the critical point in the abstract…
