I woke to Skip’s post quoting the proprietor of Gunstock Ski Resort about how the cost pressures put on his business by DemocratCare (The un-eponymous affordable Care Act) will affect winter tourism.   It will shorten the season.  He wont be able to operate as long.  Had he realized the impact he would not have built their summer adventure party.  And yes, the irony of Senator Shaheen harping on progressive global warming mythology as the harbinger of tourism doom is not lost on us.

Since arm-chair climatologist Shaheen’s prognostication winter tourism has been great.  This past year was record-setting.  But future winters, regardless of snowfall, will be shortened by Senator Shaheen and ObamaCare.

To embrace the irony properly this circumstance needs a catchy phrase for the bumper stickers and I have some suggestions.

The “But We Have To Do Something” Lobby has successfully ushered a hand-held cell phone ban through the New Hampshire legislature, sort of.  The NH Senate voted to pass the legislation with an amendment that will send it back to the House before it can make its way to the governor; who will have to wipe the drool from her lips to keep it from soiling the thing in her eagerness to sign it.

The bill would continue to allow adults to talk on cell phones while driving if they use hands-free phones, devices built into the vehicle and two-way radios. The House-passed bill also would ban all cell phone use by minors behind the wheel. The ban would apply while drivers are stopped temporarily, such as at a red light, but not if they have pulled over and stopped. The bill doesn’t apply in an emergency.

Does the Bill outline what an “emergency” is?  If evil is subjective to the left, an emergency could be anything or not, depending on the will of those engaged in enforcement.

Thursday the New Hampshire House held a workgroup session on Senate Bill 120 – an effort to institutionalize political speech within the ruling class.  Read this if that concept or this bill is new to you–or even if it is not.

The result of that was a decision to hold another session next week. ( Thursday, April 24  at 1:00pm – 2:30pm.)

Insiders who were at the hearing noted that there was enough dissent to give the committee chair pause.  My gut feeling tells me that proponents of the bill want a few days to call in some backup.

Scott Brown Supporter Mayor Michael Bloomberg Will Spend $50 Million to Fight NRA and Gun Rights

Tuftonboro (April 17, 2014)-Former NY City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the same mayor who wholeheartedly endorsed Scott Brown in 2012 for his US Senate campaign in Massachusetts, has announced that he will spend $50,000,000 to fight the National Rifle Association and gun rights groups.

Bloomberg said of the NRA,

“We’ve got to make them afraid of us.”

In 2012, when Mayor Bloomberg announced that he would host an elite fundraiser for Scott Brown, a Bloomberg spokesperson commented, “The biggest reason the mayor is supporting Senator Brown is the senator’s help on one of our biggest gun issues: opposing concealed-carry reciprocity that would let people with gun permits from rural states like Arkansas and Kentucky carry hidden handguns in New York City.”

WND has an article that explores the solar energy connections surrounding the Bundy Ranch standoff, Harry Reid, his family, and some high-ranking Democrats.  It’s quite an interesting read.  Or did I mean Reid?

I guess the Chinese are out, and have been for a while, but there is a consortium of domestic interests that link to Clinton era insiders, Al Gore, and others.  They all have ties to solar farm projects looming in Clark County and want to suckle on the taxpayer incentives before the milk runs dry.

A close inspection of the project reveals why there is so much interest in the area and why the BLM, presumably at Reid’s urging through his former aide, Kornze, is so intent on getting Bundy off the land.
