Yesterday I pondered the mysteries behind the appearance of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti in Manchester New Hampshire, questioning why he’d come cross-country to support the mayoral candidacy of Democrat Joyce Craig. Today we may have an answer.

UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has been working on Iran Nuke-Deal oversight, with a focus on compliance. The US doesn’t think Iran is following the deal to the letter. Iran thinks the US is trying to undermine the IAEA Inspectors by meeting with them and wants the Inspectors to keep mum. No one entirely trusts anyone, and there’s nothing new about that.
Maybe everyone is right, or maybe they are wrong but a nuclear Iran would be one of the dumbest things to happen in my lifetime, and I grew up practicing nuclear attack/fallout drills in elementary school.

The deliberate division of human beings into oppressed groups and sub groups of ‘victims’ has had a predictable outcome. Social Justice long-division does not end in tolerance.

Planning Commissions are not known for their concern about property rights, but here we have the Coos Commissioners wondering about the injustice of losing zoning authority over projects within the county developed on Federal Lands.
The Coos planners already regulate zoning on the county’s 23 unincorporated areas, such as Millsfield, because they have no governmental body of their own.
But the question is whether Coos officials will have any control over private projects approved by the federal government on federal lands such as the White Mountain National Forest.

Over on Facebook, there is yet another discussion about legalizing drugs versus policing or other costs. Whenever I find such debates, I always link to this excellent examination of that very debate by Theodore Dalrymple.
Back in January, we reported on legislation to shore up the legal right to impose visa sanctions on nations that refuse to take back criminal illegal aliens deported from the United States. I can’t speak to the legislation, but Mr. Trump isn’t waiting for back up.
