This morning, Ed Naile of CNHT and I were on with ‘Grok friend Jeff Chidester on The Morning Buzz from 8am to 9am this morning (like I told Jeff, thanks for letting me drive down from the Lakes Region in the middle of a torrential rain / constant lightning thunderstorm – I’ll remember that for next time).  Although there are TONS of stuff going one (f’instance, Jeff and his producer Jen Well (who I finally got to meet for the first time after talking to her on the phone multiple times!), we stayed pretty much on what we’ve been reporting on the ‘Grok for Voter Fraud.

After all, Progressivism is merely incremental Socialism, and Socialism (according to the Communists), is merely a step on the road to Communism (their say-so, and I have no reason to disbelieve them given their actions).  Anyways, this from Powerline is very instructive, as young skulls full of mush are now returning to the places that seemingly seem to house the kindred spirits of those that, pretty much, hate the ideals that kick-started this nation (e.g., that Individuals should be in charge of themselves and not looked upon as mere cogs in a social machine (at best) or mere wards of the State:

Voter Fraud and its coddling here in NH – even as the NH State Attorney General’s office has issued an exoneration of NH State Senator Martha Fuller Clark (e.g., Martha’s Motel), more outlets outside of the MSM are starting to talk about it more and more.  A guest submission by Jeff Chidester which also appeared at SeacoastOnline.

Some would like the rest of the world to believe N.H. state Sen. Martha Fuller Clark is owed an apology from the NHGOP. Not only is that not going to happen, it is not warranted.

I will not address the issues of voter fraud, voter suppression, or the recent N.H. attorney general’s report regarding the concerns about Sen. Fuller Clark and New Hampshire domicile laws. These concerns deserve a rational, common-sense analysis, which require a public conversation and not a back-and-forth on the opinion page of this newspaper.

Jennifer Horn, NHGOP chairperson, does not owe Fuller Clark an apology, and any suggestion to the contrary is naïve at best and delusional at worst. The calls for an apology only add to the kabuki theater we call party politics. Horn made a point of disagreement, one in which I have no doubt she truly believes. When Ray Buckley and the N.H. Democrat Party chose to post a picture of Sen. Jeb Bradley in a clown outfit on their Web page, should we realistically expect decorum on the part of Buckley, and insist he cease with the juvenile antics? No, because it is political kabuki theater.

Most of us expect committed political partisans to show faux righteous indignation for something that is nothing more than political posturing, but when some in the media jump in the middle of a dog fight between political rivals, it only adds to the absurdity.

Discouraging is the word that immediately came to mind – do these Know-Nothings actually know what is in the US Constitution?  Or has pop culture, a skin-deep only knowledge of civics, and our failing educational system (and its corresponding curriculum turn away from teaching our history to the next generations) finally given us nincompoops?  Did the movement started by the SDS, whose members then went underground into our educational system, finally win the Cold War?  And have traditional American values and footings been scoured away?

Watching this, how can one think otherwise?

My only question: condoms, syringes, Internet, cars, jobs – all these (and I would hazard to guess, even more) things should be provided to these walking vacuum jars for free.  I only wish that a follow on question had been asked:

Every enlistee into our Armed Services swears to this oath:

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Every officer swears a similar oath, but with a significant difference:

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

The Constitution defense comes first for the enlistee – and the President’s & officers orders come second for the enlisted ranks.  But carefully reread the officers’ oath – there is NO explicit requirement to obey the President’s command (although it is implicit within our civilian control of the military philosophy via Article II, Section 2, Clause I of the Constitution).

The issue –  Obama has said:

1. Over and over again, he has dismissed the idea that he needs Congress (“If Congress does not act, I will…”)
2. I have the authority to commit the United States to war in Syria
3. Let the Congress and vote and decide this issue
4. If the Congress decides “No!”, I will still order military action in Syria

Are we about to see if, like many elected officials that say the words but do not Honor Their Oaths, if our military will be the focus of Obama’s latest attack on the words and the spirit of the Constitution?  What will the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the General Officer Corp, the senior and junior officers, and the SNCOs and NCOs do when put, BY OBAMA’S ACTION ON SYRIA, on the question of “What will I do?”

This is absolutely rich – the Most Powerful Man in the World is ridiculed by an 11 year old boy whose Dad happens to be Syria’s Bashar Assad’s son, Hafez al-Assad.  Worse, he taunts O’Bam by saying “Yo, Emperor, where’s your clothes?” After all, how bad can it get when Obama’s indecision and mishandling gets the opprobrium and disdain of a preteen – and it goes viral worldwide?

12 hours we waited…48 hours they said, we’re waiting…they may have the best army in the world, maybe the best airplanes, ships, tanks than ours, but soldiers? No one has soldiers like the ones we do in Syria, if you ask me what rank would I rank American “soldiers” I wouldn’t rank them the worst because the worst are soldiers, but America doesn’t have soldiers, what it has is some cowards with new technology who claim themselves liberators, they said they supported the “revolution” but actually they made it, right now we’re all Syrian it doesn’t matter if your with or against because that’s democracy, the abilty to express yourself in your own way so when people say that they are against the “regime” it’s fine but there’s a difference between those people and the people who claim our flag green, it’s like an offense to the country, but the worst is people who accuse the army of killing them, they accuse these men who are willing to risk they’re lives and die to keep us safe, of killing us, well when these people say that “the army is gonna end because America will attack” I can say that when America attacks it’s gonna attack every Syrian, with, against, terrorists, the army.

Yeah, the Nobel Laureate Peace Prize winner, Cowboy Obama, is getting called out by a mere boy; is that the height of incompetence?  Boy, that Rule #5 got around quick, eh?

On Obama’s hellbent intentions of using “his” military (“Now, I have not made a final decision about various actions that might be taken to help enforce that norm,” Obama said. “But as I’ve already said, I have had my military and our team look at a wide range of options.” – since when was a decision made to make it HIS military versus the country’s?  ):

“So we’re bombing Syria because Syria is bombing Syria? And I’m the idiot?“

Obama right now, is whiffing.  His vaunted “redlines” have been shown to have been drawn in chalk – and it is raining.  So with today’s pronouncement that Obama IS going to wait for Congress to authorize military action (if there is to be any to “punish” Assad), he knows he’s going to get yet another free Political Pass of Voting Present – lots of sturm und drang, a flurry of fiery finesse, and in the end – a do nothing.

From Dennis Kucinich, sure.  A lot of the Left (and formerly active anti-war folks) aren’t too happy with their LightBringer.  But PRAVDA??

American President Barack Obama received a Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people.”

The head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Pushkov suggested U.S. President Barack Obama should be deprived of the Nobel Peace Prize in the event the Americans strike a military blow on Syria, he wrote on Twitter on Friday, August 30.   “If the United States strike Syria without a sanction from the UN, the world community must demand the Nobel committee should deprive Obama of the Peace Prize,” he wrote.

It is worthy of note that U.S. leader Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people.”   Previously, the draft resolution providing for the use of force against Syria had not been approved at the UN Security Council: Russia and China did not support the document.

Yeah, just a random thought.

Oh, I’m quite sure that this iteration of Burning Man got planned – you don’t have 68,000 people in one area, even in the desert, and have it look this orderly.  One also has to keep in mind that these folks, um, don’t always follow the same drummers the rest of us do: artsy types of folks, anarchists, folks that just like to DO things that others, well, would be scared to do.  Counter-culture is a decent catch-all phrase but never having been there myself, I bet it doesn’t capture the gestalt of it.

But it shows that perhaps the over, over emphasis by the Smart People thinking that they must control everything and plan everything because we ordinary schlubs just can’t get it right.  We need their beneficence in living our lives (hmm, see a pattern from me lately?  Maybe I’d fit in there…).  Perhaps some zoning could be useful, but all I see from my vantage point in NH is that these folks never seem to ask themselves a most important question: “When is enough, enough?  Why do you think that you folks are the Smart People that should be practicing, not zoning and basic code regulation, but actively doing social engineering for the rest of us?”

The US has its terrorism threat levels with which we are all familiar; other governments have other ways of putting it:

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent events in Syria and have therefore raised their security level from “Miffed” to “Peeved.” Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to “Irritated” or even “A Bit Cross.” The English have not been “A Bit Cross” since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies nearly ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from “Tiresome” to “A Bloody Nuisance.” The last time the British issued a “Bloody Nuisance” warning level was in 1588, when threatened by the Spanish Armada.

The Scots have raised their threat level from “Pissed Off” to “Let’s get the  Bastards.” They don’t have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years.

The French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from “Run” to “Hide.” The only two higher levels in France are “Collaborate” and “Surrender.” The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France ‘s white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country’s military capability.

Don Boudreax, Professor of economics and blogger at Cafe Hayek flips a standard question on its head and pulls it inside-out sideways:

Last night and this morning your news anchors introduced your report on D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray’s ambivalence toward the pending “living-wage” bill with this question: “Will the District force large retailers to pay their workers more?”

A more illuminating introduction would be “Will the District force low-skilled workers to demand wages that make many of these workers unprofitable to employ?”

The SEIU is the union that is principly behind the Fast Food Strikes held all over the country yesterday and the impetus behind the question.  Frankly, while the leadership there is pretty much all in the tank for Obama and would more at home in a Communist regime (“Workers Unite!  Death to the 1% (or at least force them to downsize to a single bedroom condo)), they are not stupid.  There is no way that those strikers are going to get $15 / hour.  The short term goal is, with the confirmation of Obama’s newest Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez, is to begin to shape the battlefield for “wage reform” and “work rules” – here is his “supportive fire“:

 Perez said job creation is a focus and that he views the Labor Department as “the quarterback in the workforce system,” bringing together workers, businesses and labor unions to build a “demand-driven” workforce that has the skills needed to meet employer needs.
