Ah yes, that VAUNTED Democrat value called “Civility”!  Jeanne Shaheen called for it here:

…During an informal bipartisan get-together we hosted earlier this week for our women colleagues in the Senate, there was unanimous agreement that members of both parties need to put politics aside and act in the best interests of our country….Washington could take a lesson from our state’s long, proud tradition of bipartisanship and compromise.

And here – an award given to Jeanne Shaheen for “Civility”:

“…This year we’re going to honor a moment in time when 20 women in the Senate at very difficult and challenging moment in American politics, a time when incivility was reigning, got together and said enough and set a wonderful example for us and particularly for young people,” says Allegheny College President Jim Mullen…The 20 women in the Senate aren’t less partisan than their colleagues; they simply shy away from personal attacks and make a point of being civil in their dealings.

Civility?  Then how do you explain that Jeanne Shaheen would call Scott Brown “obscene” for just getting in the race?  Far be it for me to defend Brown, but I can call Shaheen two faced for this campaign email sent out minutes after he announced he was starting an exploratory campaign given the above:

That would be Blazing Saddles (1974), one of the funniest movies of all times (and due to its Political Incorrectness, could never be made today).  And what US Senator Chuckie Schumer said to Republicans was effectively what Cleavon Little did as Sheriff Bart; when threatened to be killed by others, Bart took his own pistol and threatened to kill himself to get out of the situation of being threatened to be killed (bad grammer, but it works).  Schumer (emphasis mine):

Paywalls.  I’d love to be able to link to a lot more articles but those dang paywalls.  I understand news is not produced for free and in our capitalist system, they should charge what the market can bear.  The problem is that TMEW has already let me know what she is willing to let me bear in running this joint and therefore there’s no way I can afford to pay for all of the subscriptions I’d really need.

Sidenote: No, not the financial cost – the relationship cost.  And after almost 33 years of marriage, it’s now priceless.

Usually, this sort of thing is supposed to happen only years after the law takes effect, but that might be “never,” given the administration’s habit of deferring the law’s key provisions year after year. So the insiders’ books are going to come out first, and they’re going to start saying some unexpectedly honest things about the law’s purpose.

Emanuel gives us one big answer to our question. What was the point of ObamaCare, if not to insure the uninsured? To destroy the insurance companies….

The Belknap County Delegation has been working to put together a fair and equitable budget for our citizens.  Unfortunately, there have been those who seek to demonize the conservative majority for their desire to prepare a fair and fiscally conservative budget.  The hysterical hyperbole from Rep. Ruth Gulick and Rep. Dennis Fields has been at times most unprofessional.  In addition, a goodly portion of the desired information requested by the delegation (from the Administrator and Commissioners) has not always been delivered in a timely or complete manner. It cannot be denied, the Belknap Convention budget process has been almost painful in the extreme.

There was discussion at the Feb. 24 Delegation meeting about the current trajectory of spending being quite unsustainable.  One citizen at the public hearing rightly pointed out,  ‘If overspending continues, workers could find themselves without jobs!’  Money will eventually run out if this trajectory does not change.  Some members of the delegation have issues with discussions about ‘taking the taxpayer into account‘.  But, it is important to note, taxpayers pay not only 100% salaries and benefits of the public sector, they frequently do so with the inability to fund these type of benefits for themselves.  We should never ignore this fact. And while public workers do indeed pay taxes as well, one should be empathetic towards the taxpayer who may not be able to fund their own insurance, but are expected to subsidize others’ health insurance.  This issue, though most contentious, will need to be addressed in the near future.  No matter where you may stand on this issue, the money will soon run out. And honest compromise will be the linchpin to finding a solution to possible dissolution!
