I used to be a conservative. I now consider myself a liberal. But I have never called myself a progressive. Currently, it can take years for an innocent individual to get off the list. Take for example Rahinah Ibrahim, an innocent Stanford professor and PhD student who was improperly placed on the list. It took her eight years to get off.

In 2005, Rahinah Ibrahim, a Malaysian architecture professor and doctoral candidate at Stanford University, went to San Francisco International Airport where she was told that she couldn’t board an airplane. Her name was on a government no-fly list of suspected terrorists.

That would be the “beta males” referenced by Steve.  I have seen a ton of Chicken Little posts over the last few days so let me put up some snippets here.  However, let me quote David French who put it better than I could what has been causing my head to shake (and ache) over the vote taken in Britain last week in describing what the “Side of History” really means to Progressives and what their version of “progress” has been these last few decades

History, you see, had chosen to progress toward an international order that de-emphasized international sovereignty, elevated a bureaucratic and technocratic elite, and sought to solve international conflict through a combination of moral and economic pressure. Nations caused wars, so nationalism (and even patriotism) had to be set aside. Democracy unleashed bigotry, so “the people” mattered mainly when they agreed with the elite. Kuster said Congress must act to expand background checks for gun sales at shows and online, and if a suspected terrorist is considered too dangerous to fly, they should not be able to buy a gun.

No, it is NOT that “they should not be able to buy a gun” – Annie Kuster is just the latest to be quoted saying it.  Certainly, Kelly Ayotte has been saying it (but Jeanne Shaheen thinks we’re all bad for buying guns and have ill intent). All these self-adoring, pandering, power-hungry “that Constitutional thingie is just dried parchment” control freaks are doing is using the most horrific terrorist acts in recent history (9/11).

And Kelly Ayotte, former NH Attorney General and one that is supposed to know about Rights, has gone full Monty on Collin’s no-due-process-before-but-you-can-petition-a-judge-afterwards law that goes after guns instead the true enemy – Islamic Jihadis. A bureaucrat can take away your Second Amendment Right simply by deeming you “suspicious” – no charges, no evidence, no habeas corpus, no judge, no jury and no law.

Just a bureaucrat “and a pen”.  THIS should make us ALL very nervous knowing that the Feds are metricing their agents to put people on that list (reformatted, emphasis mine):

The air marshals, whose identities are being concealed, told 7NEWS that they’re required to submit at least one report a month. If they don’t, there’s no raise, no bonus, no awards and no special assignments. “Innocent passengers are being entered into an international intelligence database as suspicious persons, acting in a suspicious manner on an aircraft … and they did nothing wrong,” said one federal air marshal. These unknowing passengers who are doing nothing wrong are landing in a secret government document called a Surveillance Detection Report, or SDR. Air marshals told 7NEWS that managers in Las Vegas created and continue to maintain this potentially dangerous quota system.

Hudson, NH, June 23, 2016 — Jim Lawrence today called out Congresswoman Kuster on her willingness to put political posturing over the people of the Second Distict. In the last 24 hours Congresswoman Kuster not only joined the Democrats for their political theater “sit-in” on the house floor, but she then also took the opportunity to collect names for fundraising.

Jim released the following statement on the matter:

“What happened in Orlando was a horrific act of terror. Unfortunately, the citizens of New Hampshire are no safer now then they were when Ann Kuster came to Washington. Instead of working for the people of the Second Congressional District, the Congresswoman prefers acts of political theater. Her willingness to trample on the rights of law abiding gun owners across the Granite State so she can pad her campaign coffers is frankly appalling.

What a snob – typical Leftist MSMer who believes that HE has free speech but no one else does?  Once again, we see little tolerance in the news bureau (who 90-95% vote and give campaign donations strictly to Democrats) and reinforcement that the MSM is slanted in both its outlook and actions. “Mr.” Pierce of The Citizen was some unhappy when he read an email from Flanagan (similar to what Jim Lawrence put out) taking Annie Kuster to the woodshed over her “sit-in / Publicity stunt (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Please remove our newspaper from your mailing list immediately.  If this is how Mr. Flanagan is launching his campaign, I seriously recommend some self-reflection. I believe the issue deserves an up and down vote and can’t fault Rep. Kuster for standing up (or sitting down) for something she believes in. Sort of like not giving an up and down vote to the Supreme Court nominee…burying your head in the sand and hoping it will go away, right?

Or rather, the US Federal Government Ambassador to New Hampshire, Jeanne Shaheen.  Seriously, you REALLY think that I have a semi-automatic rifle to “do bad things”?  H/T to Grokster Kimberly who picked this up at Buzzfeed:

“Well, I think people need to have their voices heard, and what I’ve heard from people in New Hampshire is they think there’s reasonable legislation that we can pass including things like looking at the types of weapons that so easy for people to get,” the New Hampshire Democrat said on Mitchell in the Morning on Monday.

She lives in an echo chamber of her own mind design.  And no, it isn’t as “easy” as she makes it seem if you are buying a gun at retail – there’s NICS plus whatever else an individual State has for its gun laws.   Trust me, if she were to come and talk to the folks that, you know, actually shoot, she’d get a schooling in what’s what.  Like f’instance “Freedom is“.  Simple, that.  Freedom is just that – Freedom; it needs nor requires any explanation or justification (she hates that, btw).  The ability to live without the intrusion and interference from Government snooty noses / busybodies / Holier than thou’s that all have that Progressive “tell” (or tick, your choice) that says “I say you don’t need that”.  Freedom is the ability to tell someone – I don’t HAVE to “need” and you don’t get to tell me otherwise.  Especially when it is a Constitutional Right.  Folks like her have no consideration that my pursuit of Happiness (and real word there should be Property). But that’s what Progressives are – you are only allowed Freedom that we allow that we have determined that will “evolve” you to their idea of a Utopian resident. Here in NH, Article 2-A says it far better than the Second Amendment:

[Art.] 2-a. [The Bearing of Arms.] All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.

Words have meanings – certain meanings.  In my understanding, Article 2-A says exactly what the 2nd Amendment  means and far plainer so that the civilian disarmament lobby can’t twist things (never saying that at the time of its writing, for instance, that the “milita” is ALL of us). I’m certainly not an absolutist but given what Kelly Ayotte said tonight on the US Senate Floor, I do wonder what the rest of the Second Amendment supporters are going to do come November

Sidenote: Actually, I lie.  I know exactly what is going to happen – she is going to get Browned.

And we are the LAST people she wants to tick off.  All that has to happen, given the fight for her Senate seat by Maggie Hassan, is she trying to “middle size” herself?  God help her (actually, please don’t) if she decides to go to the center on abortion, given the last election’s treatment of the NH GOP top candidates.  Yet, she, a layer and former Top Lawyer as NH’s Attorney General (and ran, at least at times, as being guided by the Constitution), said these words:
