Ah yes, yet another missive from the Left complaining that the amount raised by property taxes here in NH should be paid by anyone other than by themselves. While the original is after the jump, this Letter to the Concord Monitor quickly sums up their argument (reformatted, emphasis mine):
The writer cites a $250,000 house for sale in York, Maine, whose property tax is $2,000. He asserts that is not a low property tax and that Maine’s sales and income taxes don’t hold down property taxes. I checked my 2016 Concord property tax bill and that same house would be taxed $6,835 in Concord – 3.4 times the York tax. For a retired couple living on $40,000 per year, the York tax would be 5 percent of their gross income; the Concord tax would be 17.08 percent of their income. The difference of $4,835 would pay for the heat, utilities and insurance on their house for a year, with enough left over for an occasional pizza.
Well, if John is arguing that his property tax is too high, well, I’d agree with him. His math is probably right, so I’ll hand that to him as well. What I WON’T do, however,

This is what Betty Tamposi now believes in. Curtailment of one of the bedrock freedoms we have here in America. This is the price she is willing to bear for defeating Trump? Once again, let me remind our readers that Republican scion, Betty Tamposi, has gone all in on the idea that the only way to save the Republican Party (from The Donald) is to embrace, fawn over, and to become a bootlicker to a person that would wipe out the entire Republican Party if her broomstick wasn’t already in the pawn shop to pay for all the political favors she’s promised (c’mon Bill, ya gotta start giving those half million $$ speeches again!):
So, a few more words to Ms Clueless in her existential war to the US Constitution (and make NO mistake, supporting Hillary is endorsing the third (and,, gulp) and perhaps fourth term of the worst Constitutional President in history):
Democrats are fond of calling their Republican counterparts “extremists.” They’ve been deploying the charge since 2010 but, having lost control of the House, Senate, over 30 governorships, and 900 legislative seats in that period, they don’t seem inclined to revise this strategy. Rarely do Republicans reply in kind. When they do, it’s even rarer that the political press uncritically echoes the charge that Democrats have become too extreme for middle America. That is no boon for Democrats, though. The party that quite nearly chose a self-described socialist to lead it has lost all perspective. There may be no better example of that inclination than Hillary Clinton’s latest campaign promise—one that has been applauded by her fellow liberals: a constitutional amendment to restrict free speech.

When you quoted Tamposi about stepping on the accelerator I (almost) lost it.
Last summer I was on the DW highway in Nashua. As I was just coming up on exit 7-N.. In heavy traffic. A vehicle passed me at a high rate of speed from the second lane…with little space to spare.. It was a female and she had her cell phone at the 12 o’clock position on the steering wheel TEXTING or whatever. I seen the plate…right — a NH State plate. I found out it was hers.
I began to write a letter to send her… I didn’t send it…darn it! I’m sure the NO TEXTING issue was out there. She must be special. I have no doubt she has and will continue with this dangerous practice. Hopefully she’ll be sighted & cited = $$$$$.

Making them seem to be larger than actual? Is this why these other candidates, fearing a blowout by him (heh! In more ways than one?) and are deciding “on other arrangements”? First, is Jack Flanagan, running against him in the primary – but with that Estevez sticker (H/T: Facebook via Kimberly)???

I’m afraid that both the creative juices are overflowing and that the Eric Estavez for Congress campaign ain’t gonna like them – after all, we are now hitting the first page of Google with our posts. Now, think about this (and no, this isn’t about Hillary) – Bernie is an avowed Socialist who has, like all Socialists, wants a political revolution that is totally opposite of the what the TEA Party (both n 1770s and now) wants – a returned of politics in reverence to the philosophy and words of the US Constituton. No, Bernie, this man that honeymooned in Moscow at the height of the Cold War, wants nothing more than a Soviet style (or to be current, a Venezuela style revolution – see how well THAT’S working out for “The People”).
And this Bernie supporter LIKES Estevez? What is it about Eric Estevez’s politics and policies that would attract a hard core Leftist to support him? Makes you wanna think hard for a few minutes, doesn’t it?

Betty Tamposi, beloved of the Establishment Republicans, has a piece in the Concord Monitor where declares that Republicans must resist Donald Trump – he’s the Barbarian at the Gate of Republicans so we MUST go out and embrace the Goths, Vandals, and Visi-Goths.
Together, reaching across the aisle, Republicans, Democrats and independents can choose the candidate who is far better able to lead our country. That candidate is Hillary Clinton….I am voting for Hillary because she will be a president America can be proud of.
Yeah, that old reaching across the aisle has worked out just so dandily – sorry, but for the base, that is code for “we’re gonna help the Democrats move their agenda FORWARD“. Just look at the Republicans reaching across the aisle in implementing Obamacare here in NH. Look at Kelly Ayotte willing to subvert the clear words of the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Amendments “to keep us safe” – yeah, Constitutionally supportive, eh?
And you’re worried about Donald Trump????
Yeah, making common good with those that repeatedly say “Death to Republicans” and vote for Hillary Clinton is EXACTLY like what Rome did – how’d that work out for them?
JUST came across this piece (H/T: Instapundit) and thought that Betty Tamposi (and the rest of “YOU PEOPLE” of the same ilk) should ponder the rightness of the underlying theme:
Brooks is, of course, horrified at Trump and his supporters, whom he finds childish, thuggish and contemptuous of the things that David Brooks likes about today’s America. It’s clear that he’d like a social/political revolution that was more refined, better-mannered, more focused on the Constitution and, well, more bourgeois as opposed to in-your-face and working class.
The thing is, we had that movement. It was the Tea Party movement. Unlike Brooks, I actually ventured out to “intermingle” with Tea Partiers at various events that I covered for PJTV.com, contributing commentary to the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Examiner. Where “this” would be Medicaid Expansion here in NH (or as Steve points out, a step to “a single-payer system.”). Here’s what current Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas said at the Windham GOP Gubernatorial Debate (emphasis mine, reformatted):
However, the candidates differed on a few key issues, including whether to continue Medicaid expansion and whether they support abortion rights.
Those differences emerged at the beginning of the debate, when all candidates were asked whether they would sign a pledge from outside group Americans For Prosperity to cut taxes and regulations and oppose the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid expansion. While Forrester and Edelblut said they would have no problem signing the pledge, Gatsas and Sununu were more hesitant, especially when it came to health care issues.
“Hesitant” – sometimes a code word used to describe Republican that KNOW what the right thing to do is (in terms of living up to the Conservative ideals of less taxes and smaller government) and KNOW that if they were completely truthful, they’d lose in a heartbeat (because they DON’T want to do the right thing – they just want to get elected). So what did Gatsas say? Obfuscation:

Trust me – we have 10 years of making sure we are out front with EVERYTHING we say and do – just ask any Conservative here in NH. Or ask a lot of RINOs – we’ve pilloried most of them over the years as well for abandoning Republican Principles; out in the open.
But if I were you, I’d be worrying and starting to review the ‘Grok’s track record on elections and asking some former candidates who lost. You can start with Walt Havenstein and Scott Brown, fr’instance…
