I keep being told that no one wants to take my guns – no one from anywhere.  Well, I keep seeing a whole lotta stuff from people who “slyly” wish to do exactly that in a more stealthy way (NH State Rep Katherine “the Hutt” Rogers is one of them – she is insistent that I am not of the caliber (heh!) of person to own this kind of inanimate object she claims that can leap off a table and kill a whole town) by the death of a thousand cuts. Helps them when they make each of those cuts costs a thousand bucks, too.

OHIO: Liberal activist jailed after voter fraud guilty plea

A paid liberal activist from the battleground state of Ohio was sentenced to six months in jail after she pleaded guilty to 14 counts of voter fraud on Monday. Rebecca A. Hammonds was originally charged with 35 counts of “falsely registering people to vote and forging signatures on voter registration forms,” and admitted to 14 counts, Salem News reports. Hammonds was a paid canvasser for the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, a group pushing people to register to vote in Columbiana County.

“It was fraud. It was dozens of forms where people that were deceased or just forged flat out. They signed their name and it wasn’t even the voter, the wrong date of birth, wrong streets,” said Columbiana County Elections Director Adam Booth in mid-2016 when Hammonds originally plead not guilty, according to WFMJ. Booth said Hammonds was caught because his office “take the precautions and double check to make sure that all the information matches up, from their first name, middle name, last name, to all the identifiers.”

House Speaker Paul Ryan warned in an interview aired Sunday that Republicans will face dire consequences if they fail to pass the Obamacare replacement plan he has introduced. Asked on CBS’ “Face the Nation” if his party would face a “bloodbath” in the 2018 midterms if the legislation fails, Ryan responded: “I do believe that if we don’t keep our word to the people who sent us here, yeah.” “If you don’t do that, you’re breaking your word,” Ryan added of campaign promises on healthcare.

Ryan also took on conservative critics of his legislation. With a “big tent” party, Ryan said, “everybody doesn’t get what they want. But we’re getting much better policy here.”

Once again, the stories just apply themselves to my college anecdote of trying to teach an education major one of the simplest equations in math: Y = MX +B (describing how a line is to be drawn).  And New York is going to codify that incompetence because DIVERSITY! Reformatted, emphasis mine

It’s basically a reading comprehension test administered to those who would eventually be giving similar tests to students…Sounds almost like a no-brainer, doesn’t it? You might think so, but this month it looks like the Empire State will be scrapping the examination because not enough people were passing it and the failure rates were deemed to be too heavily skewed along racial lines. New York education officials are poised to scrap a test designed to measure the reading and writing skills of people trying to become teachers, in part because an outsized percentage of black and Hispanic candidates were failing it.  The state Board of Regents on Monday is expected Monday to adopt a task force’s recommendation of eliminating the literacy exam, known as the Academic Literacy Skills Test. Backers of the test say eliminating it could put weak teachers in classrooms. Critics of the examination said it is redundant and a poor predictor of who will succeed as a teacher.

OK, that’s good so far.  However, it goes downhill from there – fast.  First off, he complete twists the idea of a what a Right is:

The constitutional right to vote is our most fundamental right, and all other rights derive from it. That’s why attempts to change residency standards are so disturbing — its true aim is to discourage, depress, and even disenfranchise eligible citizens rather than ensuring all who want to participate can vote.
