Mini-whine: Well, I was out last nite acquiring another interview and will start processing that video tonite.  And I just completed an audio interview a little bit ago this evening, so I have that to do.  The whine?  Steve beat me to the post I wanted to do on the Bristol Palin post (good on him!) – but I found it via another source:  The Corner and David French, whose wife runs the Patheos website Steve quoted.  David relays a bit of the back story – showing the power of social media as well as the Palin name:

Last week she added a young, single-mother blogger to the site, a person who could reach a wide audience and was experiencing life as a mother in the glare of unusually harsh publicity: Bristol Palin.

As an editor, Nancy often lives in the more mundane world of Internet punditry — posting blogs, correcting typos, monitoring traffic, and managing a group of talented and eclectic writers. But some days are less mundane than others.

Over the weekend, Bristol wrote a post that asked a simple question: “Mr. President, When Should I Expect Your Call?” Noting that President Obama had called Sandra Fluke after Rush Limbaugh’s now-famous insult, Bristol reminds the President that she’s been the target of much worse:

…After Bristol sent the post in, Nancy put it up shortly after midnight on Sunday night.

Nancy tweeted it to her few hundred followers (she and I have a rather pathetic contest for twitter followers; right now I’m barely in the lead with a whopping 776), and Bristol facebooked it. Within hours, it had been shared 8,000 times. Already it was taking off.

BE BREITBART: Right To Know Request – IT and HR records for NH DES employee, Richard de Seve

We’ve already posted a couple of times on the State employee Rickard “Dick” de Seve’ use of taxpayer paid time and computer services (Is A NH Public Employee Using The Internet to Sell his Political Agenda On Your Time?, So, what does the State of NH say about “Using The Internet to Sell his Political Agenda On Your Time?” and An Apology to the NH SEA/SEIU) on the subject, wondering about how a NH State employee (and former lawyer and present chapter VP in the NH SEIU [the Service Employees International Union, the union that represents most union employees employed by the State of NH]), could be posting so many political comments for such a long time on the NH taxpayer dime.

So last week we filed a NH RTK or Right To Know request,  identified in most other parts of the country as an FOIA or Freedom of Information Act request.   (Grokster Steve and I have been joined by Ed Naile of CNHT -the Coalition of New Hampshire Taxpayers in the effort.) We asked for not only HR records (to establish when he was supposed to be working and if he had indeed read and signed the department internet use policy, and/or any warnings that were constructed based on his use of NH State Property.  But that’s not all we asked for…

“I did not run for this office just to get back to where we were. I ran for this office to get us to where we need to be.”

That was a line from one of Obama’s recent campaign speeches.  Now if you took it at face value, it sounds like what any politician would be.  Further, most Americans, steeped in the traditional values of Americana would do the “fill in the blank” – and this is exactly how that phrase was supposed to be taken.  But how come the Media never asks  “”and where is ‘where’?”

“I ran for this office to get us to where we need to be.”

What’s the context?  This:  “we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.”  But we know where he is going – he’s told us.  “We Can’t Wait”…if Congress won’t act…his use of Executive Orders….his agencies and departments choosing to make rulings, regulations, and statutes that far exceed their authorizing legislation.  Add to that an almost complete regard to rulings of the court system. Obama rails on the outside, but with a smile on the inside.  You see, it is an inside job.  Added by Harry Reid and the other Progressive and Democrat Socialists in the Senate and the House, they are making Congress irrelevant (what is it, 1200 days since the Senate passed an operating budget?).   Government has grown larger, has inserted itself into almost every aspect of our lives because of the actions of past and present Democrats – and Republicans.  Under the guise of “helping” and “we have DO something!”, bit by bit,  Govt ended up doing more and more.

Expectations are being set.  If you know no different, then what is the loss?  We still are the Land of the Free, right?  Er….sigh….is the water boiling yet?

GrokTV Event: Cornerstone Action presents Dr. Jennifer Morse on Traditional Marriage for NH Part 1 & 2

This past Monday night, Cornerstone Action held a lecture at St. Anselm College’s Institute of Politics that featured Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse of the Ruth Institute (“Making Marriage Cool”).  The title of her talk was “Making the case for Traditional Marriage for New Hampshire“.  A crowd of about 150 people filled just about every seat in the auditorium and she gave them their money’s worth with a long and idea filled discussion of the benefits to traditional marriage vs homosexual marriage.

Email Doodlings – Libertarians HAVE finally made a political impact – are they about to throw it away?

I’ve been in a writing funk for a while now – too many targets, no focus, trying to run for re-election in my town, a couple of other projects, and I find myself stretched too thin (yeah, self-induced again).  However, the following came over the gunwales a few minutes ago, and the fog (smog?) that has settled in cleared for a few minutes rather quickly to respond:

It is time for a groundswell of Ron Paul supporters to quietly,  respectfully but firmly make their position clear to the mainstream media  and the GOP establishment. Simply put, “No Paul on the ticket means no  vote for the GOP in November.”

Alright, I’ll say it – with all of the levers of the Executive Branch at his command, and his willingness to use them regardless of whether he has Constitutional or even legal authorization to have them do the actions he wants, how much of this Country will be left?  In the news and in the blogosphere, I see agency and department in the Executive Branch doing what bureaucracies have always done – push their authorizations to do more and more.  And lately, there is a very disturbing trend that, under Obama (knowing that there will NEVER be retribution from him from doing so), they are making rules and regulations that totally disregard their authorizing legislation.
