On WMUR’s CloseUp yesterday, Greg Moore of AFP/NH and Zandra Rice-Hawkins of Granite State Progress went tete-a-tete over the Medicaid Expansion here in NH.  I’ll be popping up some video about her attempting to make the equivalence that Obamacare is the same as the US Constitution (yes, she really did!) but she did make one claim that is an outright lie: that the American People WANT Obamacare.  Sure they do, Zandra – but only when your brain matter is drifting along in the Progressive Dystopia that you all are trying to foist upon our futures.

Since the time that Obamacare was written, legislated, and passed by a single Party (and that only after bribes were given, and all predicated on Obama and the Democrats lying to the American Public about its results), poll after poll after poll has shown a majority of Americans are against Obamacare.  Not even your best impersonation of King Canute can change it – and it is getting worse to boot.  Obamacare has caused LESS people to have healthcare insurance and not more:  First, Gallup is showing, more and more, the American People believe that it is NOT the responsibility of Government to ensure that people have healthcare coverage:

Almost a week ago Executive Councilor Ray Burton died leaving what has become a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for others to seriously have a chance of winning his District 1 seat, covering half the state geographically.   On Tuesday, Gov. Maggie Hassan announced the candidate filing period will begin next week. She also announced that the primary election will be held on Jan. 21, and if necessary, a general election on March 11, which is town meeting day.

Predictions from insiders about this special election are all over the place: some believe there will be multiple candidates running from both parties, while others think there could be just one Republican and one Democrat. As candidates begin to line up, there is a big list of possible candidates. Some of them are privately playing out a run with friends and some are not, but could.

Oh, this is gonna up the stock price of Bepto Bismol – and more than a few NH State Senate Republicans ought to start heading to the stores now – like Jeb Bradley, Chuck Morse, and Nancy Stiles.  All the best laid plans – upset by DC Republicans who actually think spending less is a good thing.  So, what will the reaction and the politics be of this?  Instability of “Federal Price Support” – is this threesome willing to have taxes rise on NH Citizens much sooner?  No kicking of the can three years downfield (heck, it could be THREE months downline – how’s that gonna play out?).  After all, it WAS supposed to be the Republican play to not help Obamacare along???  From National Journal (not exactly a conservative place) (emphasis mine, reformatting):

Republicans Push Plan to Renege on Medicaid Promise

During the nasty campaign for Virginia governor last month, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., tried to poke a hole in Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe’s pledge to tap the full federal funding promised to states for expanding their Medicaid programs. “The notion that the federal government is going to keep matching Medicaid spending at this level is a notion that is just a faulty premise. It’s going to get cut,” Ryan said on a conference call with Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli in late October.  Now Ryan’s right-hand man on the Budget Committee, Rep. Tom Price, and other House Republicans are pushing a plan that would ensure those federal dollars do not come through.

Price, a Georgia doctor, brought up the issue during a meeting of the budget conference committee on Wednesday, arguing that by forcing states to pay for at least a portion of their expanded Medicaid programs, Congress could mitigate some of the sequestration cuts—a key goal for Democrats on the committee.

After all, Democrats are famous for mandating spending – and then stiffing the States in the end.  Ask yourself, how well has NH done with Federal Special Ed Funding?  Get it started and then leave the States in a lurch like a cheap date.  Why am I getting that feeling again?  Oh yeah, listen to what some DC Republicans are proposing!

Gosh, at one time (and not all that long ago, either!) holding those Values were seen as the norm (and not “extremists”).  But no, TEA Party folks have been accused of all KINDS of things by others – snide remarks and epithets that make for “political moments” even as those  three widely accepted tenets of the Movement try to stop the Government from insinuating itself into almost every nook & cranny of our lives, spending money it doesn’t have ($17 Trillion) , and making our economy worse than Europe’s with regulations being economic equivalent of an MMA rear naked choke.

For this, NH GOP RNC Committeeman Steve Duprey accused the TEA Party of being “Flat Earthers”  and “anarchists” (my response here).  Yesterday, NH Democrat Party Chairman Ray Buckley (who has called us extremists too many times to count, among other things) decided to retweet the following while we were talking with AFP/NH Exec. That would be NH State Senators Sharon Carson, Russell Prescott, and Dave Boutin (Republicans).  I guess the folks behind the leaflets are a bit unhappy that their taxes (remember, just because it may be “free money” to the State, it still means we New Hampshirites are paying for it – but politicians love the sound of “free money” and thinking that we’d actually believe that fairy tale when they throw the pixie dust into the air).  Here’s the one for Senator Carson (I imagine that Senator Prescott’s and Boutin’s were similarly configured.

After all, led by those that were once vociferously FOR Obamacare (and if not vociferous, certainly smarmy Schoolmarmish in the case of one of them), those Democrat women are now AGAINST it (funny, neither of look or sound like “Lurch” Kerry even after he’s plumped up his facial features).  And in opposing Obamacare for the BEST of reasons (er, protecting their Collective Democrat backsides), aren’t they continuing the #WarOnWomen – denying them their contraceptives for reasons Grokster Steve pointed out oh so very well:

Seriously, I cannot believe how fast Obamacare is dying politically.  Ted Cruz and Mike Lee and other conservatives risked their careers in doing the right thing in trying to see it defunded and Democrats were howling about how they wanted to wreck death and destruction and now?  Now Democrats like the NH Dem Female Trio (let’s not forget uber-Progressive Annie Kuster) are running just as fast or faster to put in measures that will keep putting off the Obamacare from being further implemented.  Cruz wanted to defund it – against all odds and the odds won. But now??

Kirsten Powers on Special Report (a Liberal) tonite was talking about Obamacare – the theme was that the Obama Administration was not and has not be honest with the American people as to why the new Obamacare healthcare insurance plans are WAY more expensive.  She took issue that HER plan was considered to be “substandard” by Obama even as it had every feature that an Obama “better plan” had to have

There is no explanation for the doubling of my premiums other than the fact that it is subsidizing other people.  They need to be honest about it that that’s the reason why they don’t want to change it because they are basically taking the people who are responsible enough to get healthcare insurance in the individual market and asking them to subsidize other people.  So they are taking young healthy people and asking them to subsidize other people.

“Asking them to subsidize other people“.  Again, I go back to the meme that Liberals and Progressives MUST change the language, MUST redefine fundamental meanings, to have any chance at all of winning their arguments or persuade LIVs of something else other than “generalized” impressions. “Asking”  – sounds awfully polite, doesn’t it?  Sounds like it is someone that is hoping you will say yes to their request, right?  Helping other people – the RIGHT thing to do, yes?

This is not rocket science – he has been a successful biz dude and have been playing in politics far longer than I.  But even with that, he cannot be given a pass for this faux pas.  Unless of course, it wasn’t and he only wished to have it perceived like the Democrats use those words (which sends quite a message in and of itself).  Again, from DiStaso:

FLAT EARTH SOCIETY? Republican National Committeeman Steve Duprey acknowledged referring to the “far right fringe of the Tea Party” as “flat earth believers” at a state party executive committee meeting last Monday night, Nov. 4.

Well, at least he’s being a sight more honest in what he believes than what Obama keeps saying about what he says…but still wrong.

Duprey told us, “I’m not against the Tea Party. It is a movement grounded in fiscal conservatism, which I support. But it does contain some who don’t believe in any government and who think anarchy should rule, and they are on the far, far fringe.”

Glad to see that the NH GOP RNC Committeeman decided to adopt the exact same the language of the Democrats with as much skill and as much actual knowledge of the TEA Party as when the NHDP called a Progressive Republican, Charlie Bass, a TEA Partier.  Not even Libertarians are anarchists – while they believe in probably even less money than I do…

“Cloward – Piven:  Obamacare is not about given healthcare coverage to the poor, or even assuming just Control over 1/6th of the US economy.  It is THE tool to collapse the entire system.  Not just healthcare. Everything”

Or one of appeasement (er, under the guise of “taking it off the table” aka “they can’t club us with it anymore”) in which the Democrats get what they wanted anyways.Again, from DiStaso:

State Senate President Chuck Morse and Senate Majority Leader Jeb Bradley briefed that committee on their alternative plan to Medicaid expansion ahead of the opening of the special legislative session.  Most on the committee supported it, but a few didn’t, we’re told.

$2.4 Billion from a Federal government that is in arrears of $17 Trillion, and the Republican Party Wise Men and (joined by Wise Woman, Nancy Stiles) think that by simply not spending it like the Democrats would (in traditional Medicaid fashion) but purchasing “private insurance” from the Monopoly Insurance carrier in NH, Anthem (thanks to both Jeanne Shaheen and Obamacare) makes it all OK.  It doesn’t and because of their concentrating on merely State level politics, they are failing to see the Big Picture.

How does this fit the Major Republican Pillars of Limited Government, lower taxes, and adherence to Constitutional values (both US and NH)?  For the life of me, I can’t figure it out at ALL (although Democrats continually abuse “the General Welfare” phrase in the US and in the NH, each town and city is to provide welfare services).  Suffice it to say that concerning the Establishment Republicans and the phrase “Jr. Partners of the Democrats in expanding the Welfare State”, the conservative base is thinking just that in terms of of that old joke about a lawyer before a judge:

The federal government shutdown may have distorted the US employment report for October — but not the US economy.

Blowing away expectations, the Labor Department reported a surprisingly large 204,000 gain in October non-farm payrolls vs. a 125,000 consensus. Add in a combined a 60,000 upward revision to job gains in August and September and the three-month average is 202,000 vs. 154,000 in the August-October period in 2012. Capital Economics:

Apparently, the near three-week Federal government shutdown had little, if any, impact on payrolls. Manufacturing increased by a healthy 19,000, construction increased by 11,000 and retail increased by 44,000. … the US economy appears to be overcoming a summer swoon.
