Yep, we were all heading to hell in a handbasket when Paul Erlich was making his predictions – he was all the rage when I was in college in the Bio departments and the beginning of the environmentalist movement.  Now he’s just raging as most of them have gone toes up.  Yet, like Socialists who keep believing that their “we have to take it from you for the Common Good” has never failed, they keep hawking their snake oil communism.  Even as their predictions go down in flames.  Instead of scarcity due to environmental wastelands, we see this:

The latest kick in the pants to the Malthusian doomsayers is a bumper global wheat harvest. Defying not only the Club of Rome doomsayers, but also the climate Chicken Littles who have been warning about damage from rising temperatures to world agriculture, food production is booming even as meteorologists call July 2016 the hottest month ever.

OBAMA DEFENDS KAEPERNICK’S NATIONAL ANTHEM PROTEST.

Ed Driscoll uses Glenn’s “Unexpectedly” adjective on this; I think Rush’s meme of the spots on a tiger (“it’s who he is”) is a much better fit.  Face it, the Left hates the founding of America and what it is now.  They can only be happy with what it is that they will change it to (e.g., Michelle’s “…for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback“).

Of COURSE they don’t believe we are an exceptional nation and deserves universal condemnation for all past sins and wrongdoings – no credit at all except for what their foreign political ideology has been able to ruin this far.  All minorities are oppressed (except for Asians – just look at colleges’ bias against them) and all white are racists.  Income inequality is the fault of companies (except Democrat owned or run ones; in that case they are merely successful even as we all point out their inequalities – and hypocrisy).  Nothing is ever any one’s fault – it is always the fault of “Society”.

So when Progressives talk “improving” America and American Society, ask them:

• Forward / progressing to WHAT (as in “what IS you end goal and does that square with our Consitution”)?
• Why do they rejoice in a foreign political ideology and reject our American one?

Ah yes, another way of what I have been saying for years:

Winning is only a precursor; it is what you do AFTERWARDS that is most important.

To wit, you win only to get something done.  Or, miserably true, to just BE someone. Winning is important but not the end all be all – the moral of both my meme and the RedState post.  It is voting for the person that in persuading me that their beliefs are mine and that I can TRUST that they will honor their pledges once assuming office. Sadly, in many cases, the voters on the Right get duped as “Winning” then turns to be the operative word – and the ONLY operative word. Caruso continues:

As one of the first people to declare that I would never vote for Donald Trump, I am constantly barraged by people telling me there are only two choices in the presidential election. One of them is Donald Trump and the other is Hillary Clinton.

When reminded the election is not a binary choice and other candidates are available, I am almost always met with, “But none of those other candidates can win! Why would you waste a vote?” It is this mindset that reveals a total of lack of understanding of why we vote in the United States.

WGN reports that just last weekend 67 Chicagoans were shot, 11 died from their wounds.

Apparently, a military-aged American is safer in uniform in Iraq, Libya or Afghanistan fighting ISIS than living in inner-city America. New York, Chicago and Los Angeles also have the strictest gun control in the country reinforcing the old saw that when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. And the rest of us can’t protect ourselves from those outlaws.

So when are we going to have a discussion about gun control that highlights these shining examples?
