MACDONALD: This Is Democrat Socialism

If you’re not sure what a Socialist America might look like, this is something of a giveaway. DSA darlings fly in private jets and stay in luxury hotels so they can be ready to give speeches about affordability and all the “Free” stuff their government will give you.

From where you stand today, that may not seem so awful because you still have freedom of mobility, the vote, and, even in tough times, the economic benefits of free-market capitalism. But when the people who promise you free stuff, seize that system, and drive off the innovators who made it work – sometimes referred to as the rich – they also kneecap every other form of innovation and growth.

Their system rewards political climbers who steal other people’s stuff, not wealth creators. Government ideas become the only ideas, and anyone who opposes them is stifled or silenced. What was once a thriving economy, more than capable of riding out downturns, becomes Europe’s generational economic malaise.

You will recall stories of Democrat scions like Gavin Newsom suping with wealthy friends and family at the French Laundry sans masks and distancing – while his entire state was mask-mandated and locked down.

Picture President Macron going about his life of luxury and pricey idle pleasures while Paris burned.

Then this.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s re-election campaign has spent big bucks on posh hotels — shelling out nearly $50,000 on upscale stays in the past seven months — as the democratic socialist darling rallies against the wealthy, The Post has learned.

The New York Democrat’s campaign forked over $47,000 on 45 hotel charges across the country since April, including a $5,044 bill at The Memphian — a bougie boutique hotel in Memphis, with spa services and an extravagant, animal-themed rooftop bar, filings show.

Sandy Cortez is the spokesperson for Democrat socialism, that is, socialism. The Stop the Oligarchy tour came before that, with her and Bernie Sanders flying private all over the nation to warn you about the type of government they have planned – except they said it was Trump and Republicans instead.

The Cortez’ Green New Deal was a blueprint for using fake environmentalism to seize control of the economy and transportation. It was exactly what Sandy is, as she hops around the nation promoting DSA candidates and Democrats who will back that agenda.

Every hotel stay was luxury, but she “also spent big bucks on luxury car services, including $1,791 for the Queens-based driving service, Golden Class Limo, along with $659 for the Northern Virginia-based Singh Car Service, the filings show.”

Champaign campaign nights, luxury hotel stays, exclusive limo service, and personal security, no doubt.

This is Democrat socialism, which is just socialism, which is just communism.

The political elite and ruling class take your stuff and live the life of a European monarch, while pandering to your declining lifestyle. And the government they promised would take care of you does. It escorts you into a subsistence lifestyle in an economy in perpetual malaise, from which there is literally no escape.

But hey, if you get tired of the crappy minimalist subsistence lifestyle, inability to protest, intimidation if you dare to object in public and increasingly in private, I’m sure they will adopt medically assisted dying. The state will happily relieve you of your life, maybe even use your free health care system to convince you, in exchange for your permanent silence and the savings to its precarious bottom line.
