Turning Point USA remains a stalwart political action organization for conservatives.  Despite losing their founder, Charlie Kirk, to assassination on the Utah Valley University campus, TPUSA continues to canvas high schools, colleges, and public forums with the message of freedom, the word emblazoned across Charlie’s chest the day he died.

Though college campuses often are a hotbed for political protests when TPUSA comes to town, Dartmouth’s student body produced only three masked individuals with the courage to stand on the lawn in front of the Murdough Center holding signs stating “Homophobes off campus” and “Free Palestine: Exist, Resist, Return”, apparently without a hint of irony.

When asked if they’d like to share their names, they politely refused before a very large, unmasked bearded man with the sartorial sense of a career protester came over to ask for my credentials, as if he somehow had the authority.  After I told him who I write for, he shuffled off to check his phone, most likely to see from which angle the VDC reports.

I asked the difficult-to-identify young ladies (?) if they were planning to go inside.  The slightly built brunette broke into a nearly debilitating stutter as she explained, even more ironically, that Charlie Kirk was an anti-semite.  After asking her to explain, she said Charlie said: “Jews run the world.”

For clarification, I asked if she was referring to his comments about American Jewish donors funding quasi-Marxist movements or when he jokingly said to Ben Shapiro, “Jews run the media”?  She stammered, realizing she couldn’t produce Charlie saying anything anti-semitic, other than perhaps his statement of “leaving the pro-Israel cause” after he said he was tired of being bullied by certain Zionist donors, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Accompanying her was an androgynous person who expressed more concerns with TPUSA’s association with the Trump Administration and its use of American taxpayer dollars in support of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, which they pointed out many in the international community have labeled a genocide. They suggested that money would be better spent here helping fund healthcare and other needs of poorer Americans.

Unfortunately the crowd size to get in was so large I, along with dozens of others who had traveled from as far as Rutland, VT were turned away at the door as students had pre-packed the auditorium.  As a token of their appreciation, TPUSA staff handed out “America the Beautiful” hats and “Freedom” t-shirts like the one Charlie wore the day of his murder.

Tulsi gave a similar speech in Texas just nine days prior, where she highlighted what she believes are the biggest threats to American freedom: the rising surveillance state and Islamists coming to America.  Gabbard named “Flock and others” for selling license plate and facial recognition cameras to government bodies around the U.S., stating some “100,000 to 200,000” scattered throughout the land.  In essence, the former Director of National Intelligence, who resigned to spend time with her husband Abraham as he battled a rare bone cancer, reminded the audience of the Fourth Amendment to the Bill of Rights protecting against unlawful searches and seizures.

Gabbard retells a story of a woman who left her parents’ house by car only to be wrongfully accused and imprisoned for a fatal crash based on faulty surveillance from Flock cameras.  She was ultimately let free after spending days in solitary confinement without legal representation.

Gabbard’s focus shifts to Islamists, whom she came across during her time in Iraq as a military medic.  Her message is simple:  Islamists are radical, and they ultimately want to violently subdue America under Sharia Law.

Having just left the state of Texas, Gabbard must have known about its growing Muslim population and plans for a large Muslim community housing project reported to apply Sharia law and even have a Sharia court there in the heart of the Lone Star state.

Out of curiosity, I asked the A.I. Grok to tell me how many Muslim-owned companies there were in the U.S. that provide surveillance services.  It came back stating “zero”.  So I asked which companies and/or countries have the greatest surveillance presence in the U.S., and the answer was somewhat surprising:

  1. Israel (Cellebrite, Paragon Solutions, Cognyte, Rayzone & Pegasus)
  2. America (Palantir, Clearview AI, Flock Safety, Axon AI, Motorola & Verkada)
  3. China (Hikvision & Dahua)

Turning back to the student protesters, I asked if they were aware of this.  Sounding deeply concerned, they spoke about Israel using AI to wage war against the Palestinians, where the current death toll is estimated between 75,000 and 200,000, with the disparity largely due to the sheer amount of uncovered rubble assumed to be hiding thousands of bodies.

I was reminded of the comment Charlie Kirk made that is making the rounds on social media, where he claimed Israel is the largest surveillance state in the world before questioning why it took the IDF some seven hours to respond to the Oct. 7th attack.

“Was there a stand down order?” he asks interviewer Patrick Bet David of the PBD Podcast.  “I don’t buy it.  I’ve been to the Gaza border.  There is an IDF soldier every fifteen feet.”

These comments, alongside his others about Jewish donors, have set the internet on fire as it relates to potential state actors involved in his assassination, a position furthered by Gabbard’s former colleague Joe Kent, who also stepped down from his position as Counter Terrorism Chief following the incursion into Iran.

Gabbard concludes her speech, noting that many conservatives have stated they will not be getting out to vote.  Those claiming they won’t be voting blame the Trump administration’s 180-degree turn on three key issues he ran on – no new wars, greater transparency, especially as it relates to the Epstein files, and the migrant crisis – which has seen once-avid MAGA supporters like Joe Kent, Tucker Carlson, Thomas Massie, libertarian Dave Smith, Candace Owens, and Marjorie Taylor Greene suggest it’s time for a third party.  Gabbard fails to mention this bifurcation in MAGA, which many delineate as a split between Trump’s MAGA movement and a new post-MAGA group forming under the moniker “America First”.

Much of the discussion centers around Israel and the perceived influence wielded by dual-loyalists to the Zionist movement such as AIPAC, the ADL, and even TPUSA.  As a result, some strange bedfellows have emerged.  Once bitter rivals from the left and the right now meet in podcasting spaces to discuss their shared concerns about the direction the nation is headed.  One of the largest media audiences belongs to The Young Turks.  Its hosts Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian have exchanged heated words with all of the above, including Charlie Kirk before he passed.

With America embroiled in the Iranian and Ukrainian conflicts, gas prices putting trucking companies out of business, student test scores nose-diving along with the birth rate, data centers driving energy prices through the roof, and the war on mass migration spreading across the Atlantic, it seems voters have more than just two concerns impacting our freedoms.
