Today, on the Morning Update, fresh news out of Europe from Americans who fled there when Trump won in 2024. They were misled. They miss America. Europe really sucks.
Note: I changed how the video editor removes pauses, which makes everything look much less choppy. I think it’s a big improvement from the past few weeks.

Welcome to your Groktober 23rd, 2026 morning update. Europeans who came here for the World Cup were surprised, alarmed, and overjoyed at how awesome America really was. From the people to the food to the freedom, they thought it was an amazing place, contrary to everything they’d ever been told about the United States. So it should come as absolutely no surprise to hear, again
That people who fled Trump’s America for Europe are having, I guess, what you would call buyer’s remorse.
Quote: A woman nicknamed Annie said she was sold the idea of an idyllic life in the UK on social media, but it was all an illusion. there are huge misconceptions about access to quality healthcare, standard of living, the quality of life is significantly lower than in the U.S., she told the magazine, citing drawbacks ranging from their healthcare system to a significantly lower disposable income. Things in the UK are considered luxury items that are very common in America, like a dishwasher or a dryer. She said the British reputation of politeness is a movie myth.

Quote: Sarah Wood Gonzalez, a journalist and consultant. She spent three years in Spain and Edinburgh, but moved back to New York. Something I had taken for granted is the American outgoingness and default to action, where the question is, how can we collaborate? She said, generally speaking, I also found that the American work style, for better or worse, moves much faster and can get to a yes or no more quickly.

Josh moved to Berlin in 2023, anticipating Trump winning in 2024, but his expectations, particularly when it came to his career, didn’t align with reality. I missed the friendlier people, freedom of speech, and ease of daily life in the United States, he said. He added, Of German daily life, if you aren’t born and raised there and don’t look German, you’ll never be fully accepted.
And as if that isn’t bad enough, these numerous Americans who fled to Europe proudly, perhaps, on social media, to say, I am fleeing Trump and his fascist blah blah blah left-wing BS. If they say anything online about how it’s not all that rosy
Anything negative that might make America look better, the bullies on the left pillory them so badly that they don’t even want to talk about it anymore.
Wanna know something else kinda interesting? This entire report was published in Wired magazine, a decidedly very left-wing place that, despite the fact that it’s all about technology, doesn’t like Elon Musk very much, which is clearly a political statement.
The reality is that America, even right now, with gas prices not quite as expensive as they were under Joe Biden, is an amazing place. We have more freedom, we have more economic power, we have more mobility, jobs, everything. Europe kinda sucks.

Quote: Theo Wold, former White House Deputy Assistant for Domestic Policy in Trump’s first term, told the New York Post, American liberals fail to understand the hard economic facts about European socialism. American liberals want to import European socialist ideas and wave after wave of third-world immigrants into the U.S. But it turns out that in real life, socialism and mass immigration produce countries that are poorer, less productive, and less enjoyable to call home, he said.
[finally]
Let’s now contrast that reality with what happened when the Europeans came to visit us for the World Cup.
They saw the truth of what America really is. It’s full of really nice people, really awesome things.
Better food, more entertainment options. And let’s be honest, because it’s a republic, you can change states and things will be a little bit different, but it’ll still be in America. In Europe, you can move to a different country, and it’s still a shithole.
The EU is an economic union that turned into a socialist oligarchy, and its job is to paper over a historical truth. Most Europeans don’t like anybody else, and they certainly don’t like America.
Which means they don’t much like Americans either.
And not just because you’re not European, because you’re probably descended from a European, but because the reality is they’ve been told your country’s not that great, when in fact it’s the greatest country in the world. Maybe it’s envy, maybe it’s ignorance. It really doesn’t matter.
November is coming. Vote Republican
And let’s keep making America even better.
That’s it for this week. I’ll talk to you on Monday.
