Welcome to your Thursday, Groktober 22nd, 2026, morning update.

Walter Blackie Wetzel was a prominent Blackfeet tribal member leader who also designed the Washington Redskins logo.

Quote: Born on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana, Wetzel served as tribal chairman from 1950 to 1964 and was the first Montana tribal leader to serve as president of the National Congress of American Indians.

The logo depicts Blackfoot Chief Two Guns, white calf, and he was chosen to honor the tribe and all Native Americans. That was back when we used to do that.

But Chief two guns white Calf became a target of cultural Marxists and their political descendants, surviving numerous skirmishes until BLM, the black liberal Marxists, began their ritual celebrations of the drug overdose of the career criminal George Floyd, sometimes known as mostly peaceful protests,

The resulting campaigns leveraged fear and intimidation to extort corporate America while doing their best to erase minorities from public spaces, logos like Uncle Ben, Mia the Indian Maiden. Aunt Jemima and the chief on the Mutual of Omaha logo.

Two guns, white calf was fired without a replacement, and the D C based NFL football team decided to identify as the Washington football team until deciding to call themselves the Washington Commanders, which in early 2022 I noted didn’t seem like an improvement.

Quote, according to reports, the team got 40,000 suggestions from fans. But in the end they picked Commanders because that’s Washington, DC. It’s full of commanders. I get it. Like the people who were in charge of mistreating the native population, killing them and driving them off their land. We’re honoring those folks.

The Washington football team slash Commanders didn’t really go woke and go broke. But they broke for woke and the descendants of two guns white calf have been trying to reverse the change ever since.

In 2024, the family managed to convince the team leadership that the logo was a good thing, and the team announced that it would probably no longer ban it if fans were to wear it. They wouldn’t turn them away when they showed up for games, wearing the old-school Washington Redskins logo.

And they’re back. The family.

They’d like to convince the team not just to allow the logo, but to return the name to Redskins. And put their chief back on the helmet.

Quote: The family contends that after years of defending the team’s name, Snyder, who owned the team, suddenly moved to cancel it without any consultation. They did not even ask our family for approval. They didn’t ask for anything from us. I mean, we literally got erased, said historian Brock Conway. Now the family wants to take their case to the very top. We’re hoping for a meeting with President Trump in order to help get this pushed forward.

The family’s aims are not modest, according to WTVR. The estate is hoping to restore the former name, the logo of the chief, and get the team stadium renamed after their grandfather.

They want to see if President Trump can help in classic Trump fashion.

He has suggested, though not recently, that he would interfere with the construction of their new stadium if they didn’t switch the name back. Certainly a page from the woke handbook: I’m going to extort you to get what I want.

A meeting with Mr. Trump may reinvigorate that option as well as incite an insurrection in support of a change back to Washington Redskins and the Chiefs’ rightful return to the helmets on the line of scrimmage for every future snap.

We do, of course, have to consider that the problem wasn’t the Indian but the name. Two Guns. It is kind of triggering.

But then we’d have to assume the proglodytes actually knew his name, which is giving those trigger-happy virtue signalers on their decades-long war path against minority communities on public logos way too much credit.

I wish the family all the luck in the world, and we’re behind you 100%.

That’s it for today. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
