Blaming Republicans for higher energy costs, especially electricity prices, is like blaming Republicans for all the illegal aliens Joe and Kamala let into the country. Not only did Biden and Harris let them in, but they also invited them and worked with international organizations to run the conveyor belts that brought them here.
And this is not in dispute. Democrats are running on protecting criminal aliens, inviting more of them, and granting them amnesty.
When it comes to electric rates, energy prices are a significant strain on household and business budgets, but that can be directly linked to several decades of progressive policy choices. Last year, Democrats began serving up steaming piles of nonsense cooked up in their narrative dungeons. Republicans made your electricity so damn expensive, and they were prepared to do something about it?
They proved that Democrats were responsible and that the plan was to make electricity cost even more. The US Climate Alliance is a coalition of 23 governors, all Democrats, and some fool named Phil Scott (R- VT), and their plan is to achieve the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.
The plan calls for more intermittent wind and solar, battery backups, Electric vehicles, and making utilities pay for efficiency mandates.
These are the things that made your electricity rates go up and, if forced into the marketplace at scale, as suggested by the rubes in blue, will bankrupt you, utilities, and states, making electricity an intermittent luxury.
But one example of this planned failure from my neck of the woods?
The problem is not complex. The cost of Net Zero would require the entire GDP of the region to set up and run for at best a few decades, if we’re lucky, and there are no net-zero failures, battery facility fires (common and devastating to the local biosphere), or other issues.
The entire exercise, even if fiscally or materially possible, comes with 20-35% waste built in. The laws of physics and battery and transmission technology will consume 20-35% of the electricity produced before it lights a single bulb.
This is the future to which this alliance and the political left are married, based on the lie that fossil fuel “emissions” need to be reduced to zero – when you can’t make any of this stuff, ever, without them.
The Climate Alliance states are heavily promoting all four of these very expensive technologies because this is how fossil fuel use is reduced in accordance with the Paris Agreement. All the member states have “Clean electricity standards” and 19 have “100% clean electricity goals.” Many have “energy storage goals” as well and massive efficiency programs.
The Alliance website even has a searchable “Policy Database” that contains numerous state laws and executive orders mandating the use of these expensive technologies to reduce fossil fuel use.
I won’t burden you with the links, but we’ve covered the cost and delivery structure, as well as the lie that fossil fuels are an issue or that fraud sells wind, solar, EVs, and battery farms as green or safe. And states like New Hampshire are victims of progressive moonbattery. Look at the map again.
Despite opting out of this in successive legislative sessions, our electric rates are tied to the region. We have a legitimate case for energy reparations because of costs foisted on us by our idiot neighbors.
There is no easy or practical way to decouple from ISO New England, and Her Excellency, Gov. Ayotte, just announced she’s bought into the AI slowdown (for now), which is a huge mistake. Big Tech would build its own energy infrastructure and share it with the local community. AI demand would actually drive down electricity costs for locals because of how the billing structure works. Given the current situation, becoming the AI hub of New England might be the only way we offset the punishment we have faced and will.
AI Generators could create enough power to help us weather the idiot storm that surrounds us, at whose eye is the Paras Climate Accord, which Democrat governors and one progressive Republican have announced they want now more than ever.
The mask is off.
Democrats made electricity rates higher and are doubling down, and I don’t hear any Democrat running for state or federal office screaming about how much more expensive electricity rates will get as a result.

It’s the same reason they love high gas prices. It’s the only reliable way to get you to compromise your lifestyle. If they make it cost too much, you will use less.
That, by the way, applies to everything in the Democrat quiver of arrows; they will aim at your ass if you give them any majority, anywhere, ever, and not just because higher energy and transportation costs add to the price of everything.
