Have you ever attended a committee hearing with a large turnout? Whether or not the committee chair is a pleasant one, it’s common to hear the chair saying words like, “if someone else has already said your talking point, we don’t need to hear it again; please save all of us some time,” as people signed up to speak wait either minutes or hours for their turn at the mic.
As a member of the public who has lost hours of my time, more than once, waiting to be recognized, I could easily write a separate screed on that. However, I will comply with that in cyberspace because Al Fulchino has already said many talking points in his recent statement. I will supplement what was already said and personalize it as I work my way down the ballot that I will receive in November.
I named my article “Elephants In The Room” because the Republican slate stinks so bad that the elephant should be replaced with a skunk. Lily Tang Williams is the ONLY Republican candidate for a higher office that is worthy of my vote, so I consider myself blessed to be among the 50% of Granite Staters ignored by the ruling class and their operatives. Let’s get started with a description of “higher office” and a disclaimer that I will vote for my two local rep candidates and the county candidates. Higher office is defined as either a federal office or an office that serves more constituents than a rep district.
All of NH votes for a governor, and complaints against Kelly Ayotte are already well known. I agree with all of the commonly vented ones and have a few of my own to add, but I reject her candidacy just like Formella rejected Warmington’s unhinged attack on him and his office in the executive council chamber on 1/31/24. Video of that scuffle is both available and entertaining.
All of NH also votes for a senator to send to Washington, and that Klaus Schwab stooge in our State Royal Family was selected. That wasn’t a keystroke error; I used the word selected, starting with S, as in Sununu. He is bought and paid for by the donor class just like Corky was 6 years ago. I reject all of his family, no matter what office is being sought by any member in this election and in the future. I also reject blame for a future with decades of the Pajama Boy in that seat. Let me be clear that I despise the little darling just as much as everyone else, but I reject the “do this or else” talking point in favor of holding my nose and voting for John E. I am going to vote for Edmond Laplante and hope others will do the same. More on him later.
Though Hollie wasn’t on my ballot, she was best positioned to stop DiLorenzo, another bought-and-paid-for donor-class stooge. I am sad for that “darling favorite district” because their federal race is just a half-scale clone of the Sununu-Pappas race, and they’re stuck with hearing “vote for DiLorenzo or else” (the OTHER State Royal Family gets to send a new member to Washington).
Moving down the ballot, an executive councilor serves 1/5 of the state. Mr. Stephen is a political thug the donor class recruited to stop Nurse Terese in the 2024 primary. Yeah, he’s a lawyer who talks the talk about fiscal conservatism, but that doesn’t make his baggage vanish, and he voted for Judge Will, the newest SC judge. He’s the one who thinks it’s ok to suspend our constitutional rights in a State of Emergency.
Next office down the ballot is state senator, an office that serves 1/24 of the population. I’ve already made it known what I think of Howard Pearl in my announcement of candidacy against him in our recent primary. I lost that race, but I pointed out in a recent article that 3 out of 8 primary voters disapprove of him.
Ayotte, Stephen, and Pearl are all unworthy of my vote, almost as unworthy as their Democrat opponents. I will be writing in someone just to go on record that it’s not just a careless undervote, even though writing in a candidate and leaving that part of the ballot blank will result in the same outcome. I will also not be voting for my 3rd rep, Raymond Plante, who is in another town and totally unresponsive. Plante left early on the day HB649 was in the House, and it took several attempts to contact him to discuss his non-participation. Then Veto Day came and went. He didn’t participate in the HB396 vote last winter, and he ignored all 4 of my attempts (2 emails and 2 texts spaced out over several days) to discuss his plans. He didn’t participate in that vote and clearly thinks I am a constituent unworthy of an explanation. Consider this message as me giving him the finger. I will write someone in for that seat also because voting for a Democrat in any November race is just plain unacceptable.
I don’t use Facebook, but I am aware of the current atmosphere in that NHGOP group. I think the appropriate word to describe it was a known favorite of the late Ray Guarino, one of the most despicable members of Nashua’s school board, and that’s “acrimonious.” The establishment elite are best represented by that meme with the other Wizard of Oz characters burning the scarecrow. They think that you don’t matter because their dollars outnumber yours. Guess what! I was an independent for decades until I was recruited in 2020 to be an opponent of Mr & Mrs Newman, who are finally retiring this year. I’ve reverted to independent after each state rep race loss, and that’s what I did after my recent Senate primary loss. I had to visit the town clerk’s office anyway to avoid an extra $4.91 in fees to renew my car’s registration online. Switching back to undeclared from Republican felt extra good this time around, not just because it was personal, but also as solidarity with Al Fulchino.
And I hope you haven’t forgotten that I said I would get back to you more on Edmond Laplante. If you recognize that our current US Senate race is just a modern-day Scylla and Charybdis, please vote for Edmond because getting 4% of the votes would result in a major advancement in election operations, and that’s ballot access. If he gets 4% of the vote, your vote for him will not be wasted. Be part of the change.
