Data Point – NH is kidding itself if it thinks it can continue to push Medicaid Expansion

States strapped for cash - medicaid expansion

Medicaid costs, said then-Secretary Michael Leavitt, were projected to grow so fast that within 10 years they would “crowd out virtually every other category of spending.” State spending on higher education, infrastructure and safety, he predicted, would all get squeezed.

That which is unsustainable will stop and no amount of tomfoolery and half-cocked sleight of hand accounting gimmicks in which Peter pays Paul to pay Peter again is going to change the bottom line.

So, if GOP elected “Leaders” wish to keep on paving the path to a broad-based tax, you’re doing it well. BTW, how’s that pension redo holding up? Do you REALLY have a handle on it because where I’m sitting, your latest crackery is driving the local budget processes nuts.
