Good morning and welcome to your Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, morning update.
Mark Alexander has a must-read article over on Patriot Post called Mr. President, Can You Get Iran Right? And there’s a lot of great information in there. I’ve linked it beneath the video on the granitegrok.com post page. For those of you on Rumble who wanna scoot over there and take a look at it. He has a lot of good things to say, and it’s well worth reading.
Mark quotes retired General B.B. Bell, who said,
Sir, speaking to Mr. Trump, the last time I checked, we are the United States of America. We are the world’s largest economy, and as you note, we have the most powerful military on the planet. Iran is a nation led by radical Shia Islamic extremists who have repeatedly pledged, articulated, and boasted that the Great Satan is the United States of America and that their mission on earth from Allah is to destroy us. Iran’s deeply radicalized and ill-conceived form of Islam hates us and will never, never agree that we are anything other than the Great Satan, which they assert Allah has commanded them to destroy. The constant and declaratory chant Death to America is essentially Iran’s national motto. In other words, they’re not kidding.
They have nuclear technology.
They have weapons-grade material.
At the very least, medium-range missiles, and they’re on good terms with nations that have long-range missile capability.
You have to accept that they would not balk at the opportunity to use this strength, this nuclear situation, to hold the world hostage the way they claim they are holding the Strait of Hormuz hostage. They aren’t, by the way. I mean, they are a tiny little bit. But the longer this goes on, the more ships get through. The US Navy is escorting tankers every day.
Maybe not as many as they say, but oil is getting through. And as long as we’re waiting, oil nations are building pipelines. They’re putting in infrastructure. They’re bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. Yes, Iran will attempt to blow up their infrastructure, but as long as this continues, things get worse for the Islamic Republic.
It has not closed the strait.
Iran’s rial is literally worth less than the paper it is printed on. Something like 1.3 or 1.7 million rial to the dollar. Inflation? Somewhere around 90%. The IRGC is battling with other forces inside Iran for control. And while that might be a question of which set of radicals ends up running the place.
At the end of the day, the people of Iran are the ones who need to take their country back. Mr Trump, for his part, he says, quote, I have no time schedule. I’m not in a hurry. They’re good poker players, but they’re dying. And they are dying.
If Iran dies, Hamas dies, Hezbollah dies, the largest single funder of terrorism around the globe can no longer fund a damn thing.
The Gaza problem is solved by ending the Iran problem. But we need more time.
If we let Democrats win back even one chamber of Congress, they will do everything they can to get in the way because they like Iran more than they like America.
You don’t have to love any of it, but you would be a fool to believe anyone who says Iran does not want to destroy or at least seriously injure the United States.
When they say that, they mean you. They want to kill millions of Americans. Because we’re not Muslims. We aren’t even really people in their eyes. And Iran is crazy enough to do it. Mr. Trump needs more time.
It’s our job to make sure he gets it. And we’ll get some really interesting side effects. The economy will improve, more manufacturing, a secure supply chain, lower crime, secure borders. There are lots of possibilities. There is one other hard truth. Democrats don’t want any of that.
