OPINION: Our Pilgrims to Patriots Event

by

Here is what a grassroots group of individuals accomplished in just over a year of planning, praying, and following God’s lead. He is faithful, He is trustworthy, and He provides what is needed to complete His plan.  All we need to do is say yes, God, use me.

Saturday, August 1st, was our Pilgrims to Patriots event.  Hundreds of individuals from 27 different states joined us in Plymouth, MA for our 250th Celebration of America.  We organized 3 events in one day – Pilgrims to Patriots, passing the torch of liberty, from 10 am – 2 pm at Pilgrim Memorial State Park, 3 pm-4 pm Rededication of the National Monument to the Forefathers at the base of the Monument and a 25th  Anniversary Fundraiser/Banquet at the Hotel 1620 in support of The Jenney and in honor of its founders Nancy and Leo Martin.

We shared the history of 1620-1776 and touched on the Constitution, rededicated the National Monument to the Forefathers to God and the next generations, 137 years later, to the day (original dedication day was August 1, 1889), and raised money for The Jenney at our banquet.  Everything flowed beautifully throughout the day.  God showed us 3 separate signs that He was with us.

*A rainbow in the sky the night before,
*A cloud formation that looked like a cross at the park,
*A cloud shaped like a hand formed behind the Monument after the rededication event was over.  It looked like it was reaching to grab hold of the Monument.

I would like to share some resources with you that inspired this event to help give you more inspiration to learn about the true history of our great country, and pass it on to your children and grandchildren.  Please share this with your church leaders too.  Our church communities need to come alongside us and share this important history from the pulpit.  “The most important thing is to bring people to Christ.  The second most important thing is to preserve the freedom to do the most important thing.”  William J. Federer

The idea for this event started in 2021 when I first learned about the Forefathers Monument from Kirk Cameron, who had a 100-day plan American Campfire Revival Class of his own in January of 2021 where he educated about 10,000 people a day from a book his friend Marshall Foster wrote called “The American Covenant, the Untold Story.”  All he had was a campfire in his backyard, his cell phone, a tripod, and Facebook.  He shared 20-minute stories from this book.  At the end of the 100 days, he showed us some photos of the Forefathers Monument and explained what it was about.

After learning of the Monument, I came across the Patriot Academy and took my first Biblical Citizenship class. I found a class here and learned more about the Monument and America’s true history.  I was fortunate to see the Monument for the first time in October 2021, the day a celebration was held for the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrims’ landing.   After seeing it in person, I started sharing it with others and was amazed that no one had heard of it.

At this moment, God called me to share this Monument and its meaning with everyone I come across.  I have since facilitated Biblical Citizenship classes, taken groups of people to The Jenney for tours of the Monument, and have become good friends of the founders of The Jenney, Nancy and Leo Martin.  They introduced me to Michelle Gallagher, writer of the Forefathers Monument Guidebook.  In her book, she has a beautiful description of the day the Monument was dedicated to the Pilgrims, August 1, 1889.  We took some of the events mentioned in her book and used them in our Pilgrims to Patriots event.

I have also organized Freedom Walks in Concord, NH, at the State House, the Saturday before Constitution Day (The next one is September 12th at 10 am) to let everyone know about the Monument.  Short video here.

In January of 2025, my desire to make the Monument a household name and the upcoming 250th Anniversary of America came together.  Nancy and Leo Martin, Michelle and Dan Gallagher, and I and my husband formed our initial team.  As our event started to take shape, we added friends from the Patriot Academy, the Jenney board, and close friends of Nancy and Leo.  We all worked tirelessly to bring this event to life.

Please check out the videos of our day below, and like and share our Facebook page.  This video captures the essence of the day, Passing the Torch of Liberty.  Passing the torch of liberty, the Bible, and the Biblical principles that were laid as the cornerstone of America is the duty of each one of us.  These truths need to reach the next generations, or Liberty as we know it will be lost forever.

You can help us continue our goal of making the Monument a household name by learning more about it, taking someone to see it in person, and taking or hosting a Biblical citizenship class in your home or at your church.  If you would like to connect with me, please email me at sunnydays1729@gmail.com
