- Did you know about the weekly ICE protests in the Monadnock region?
- The obvious contradiction the media ignores on purpose.
- Democrats and Democracy had plenty of time to change the law
- You are protesting your own electoral importance.
- ICE Couldn’t tell you about the operation if they wanted to
- Free speech, more protests and conclusion.
It’s amazing the things you don’t know, not that I needed to or care, but there have been weekly protests around the Monadnock region in opposition to ICE enforcing federal law, and no one seems to have asked them about “no one being above the law”?
That’s NH Media for you. The Left hands you a clear example of why we call them hypocrats, and they can’t bring themselves to ask the proglodytes their thoughts on that particular point. The average Dem who would even show up for one protest would have been versed in the ‘No one is above the law” narrative. Keep saying it, writing it, sharing it. No one is above the law!
They wouldn’t shut up about it when Biden’s DOJ was colluding with proxies to charge Trump with any crime they could think of.
But here they are, “Dozens of people,” according to WMUR, “gathered in Keene to protest federal immigration enforcement.”
The Keene Rally Coalition has held weekly Saturday demonstrations in the Monadnock region for nearly two years. Coordinator Kristen Petricola said the group expected more people Saturday, given the week’s events.
“We’re not police. We don’t carry weapons,” Petricola said. “We’re really just here to walk in and engage with a group and understand the anger, and what’s going on.”
Susan Lane Shaw is a decades-long Keene resident who was in attendance at the protest.
“The only way, I think, that we’re going to help convince the people who are our friends and neighbors is by showing up and letting them know just what we stand for,” she said.
What do you stand for?
You support obstructing federal agents from enforcing the law. Leaving criminals in our neighborhoods. Exposing your neighbors to drugs, gangs, human traffickers, and in some instances rapists and murderers. And while they’d be better off hiding in Vermont, Massachusetts, or Maine, Keene has styled itself a woke bastion for stupid ideas, one of which is ignoring the law for partisan political points.
That also appears to include ignoring how Democracy works, and that “your side” has had plenty of opportunities over the past two and 1/2 decades to change the laws these Federal agents are enforcing.
A period of time when your Democrat members of Congress were completely impotent on the subject of using the processes of government to exercise your will.
Democrats controlled both chambers in 2001-2002 (w/plenty of weak Republicans), 2007-2009, 2009-2011 (Barry Obama would have signed it), the Senate from 2011-2015, and the House from 2019-2021.
What the hell were they doing instead of changing the laws you don’t appear to like? Prosecuting Mr. Trump and Republicans in more recent instances, which, at the time, you were too busy applauding to ask them to do anything else.
Holding a sign and trying to convince your neighbor to help you stop law enforcement from enforcing laws is what you stand for. New Hampshire Democrats have been in Congress without interruption for more than a decade.
You should be protesting their lazy, incompetent asses instead of bitching about laws they either never tried to change or couldn’t convince their colleagues to support.
ICE did, by the way, engage in operations in and around Keene in August. That’s why WMUR actually made time to talk to the people who keep showing up to hold signs encouraging unlawful behavior.
Mayor Jay Kahn confirmed the activity in a statement Tuesday, adding he doesn’t believe Keene police helped federal agents.
The Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office issued a separate statement saying it had no role in the operation and was not notified before, during, or after it happened. Sheriff Eli Rivera said they learned about what happened through social media, the same way residents did.
I find all this Sgt. Schultz business a bit disingenuous, but given the location, I can see why Immigration enforcement officers would not tell any of them about their plans. The same sort of people who were saying no one is above the law would want criminals to escape the law.
“ICE Boston routinely conducts operations across New England, which includes the state of New Hampshire.
For operational security purposes, ICE does not disclose information pertaining to current or ongoing operations, including law enforcement plans, tactics or strategies.
The First Amendment protects speech and peaceful assembly, not rioting, assault and destruction. ICE fully supports the right to peaceful protest, but condemns the dangerous and unlawful actions that are obstructing federal operations and endangering the safety of everyone involved, including protesters, bystanders, detainees and law enforcement officers. The Trump Administration is utilizing all lawful options to carry out the largest deportation operation in history, just as President Trump promised. Anyone who has been deported received full due process.”
That’s who all of these people are, and the question the media should ask is whether the protesters, city leaders, and local and county LEOs were out of the loop because of the risk of misfeasance or malfeasance.
Mayor Kahn has called the city council to a workshop Monday at 6 p.m. at city hall to discuss the ICE activity and give residents a chance to speak.
You misspelled “opportunity for the media to create another anti-ICE axe-grinding story.”
Note: WMUR’s reporting also inferred that while everyone agrees on the First Amendment right to protest, that right could be taken away. No one mentioned any actual examples, probably because they were all the result of left-wing protesters silencing people on the right.
Media’s position: no comment.
And, yes, there are bigger protests planned, probably with bused-in hooligans. They’ll make a big show, maybe even a potentially violent one, but at the end of the day, no amount of nonsense will dismiss two irrefutable facts. Democrats could have changed the law and didn’t. If no one is above the law, then federal agents are obligated to enforce it.
FYI – The DNC formally adopted a decision to ban the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
