As the old saying goes, ‘it will all come out in the wash’, Republican U.S. Senate candidate John E. Sununu is finding out it’ll also come back and bite you in the buttocks!
The Hampton, New Hampshire Republican Committee hosted a debate on June 24, 2026 between former U.S. Senator (R-MA) Scott Brown and former U.S. Senator John E. Sununu (R-NH). Both are looking to flip the Democrat seat currently held by retiring Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and increase the GOP majority in the U.S. Senate.
It was a long-awaited debate happening only after compelling pressure by the Brown campaign on the Sununu campaign to participate. It was also an open debate to the public.
It was inevitable that the hot topic of Sununu’s possible connections to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Boris Nikolic would come up, since for months now, questions have been circulated throughout New Hampshire whether John Sununu had any connections with Epstein.
It wasn’t long before a member of the audience asked Sununu if he had ever been to Doha, Qatar. “No”, Sununu said, shaking his head to add emphasis. Ooops. Not true. A lie that had his campaign in a state of panic, having to admit it was a false answer.
Correspondence and information released by the DOJ (Department of Justice) showed that Sununu traveled to Doha in 2001 as part of a bipartisan congressional delegation and participated in a public World Economic Forum event there in 2010. In May, 2010, Nikolic had sent a list of attendees to Epstein for networking purposes, and on that list was John E. Sununu. In the interest of fairness, it does not mean that Sununu had any direct dealings with Epstein or Nikolic, but it begs the question: why would Sununu lie about being there? How many other lies has he told us?
Sununu’s campaign tried to downplay the question at the debate, saying John was brushing off a tracker. What? Most of us in the political arena know about trackers; they are literally “spies” from another party who gather information on candidates to use against them. You can spot them a mile off; they don’t participate, they sit quietly in the back observing and recording. I’ve personally had to ask many trackers to leave our Republican meetings over the years. But this was someone who simply asked a question and who expected to get a truthful answer. It was disingenuous of the Sununu campaign to downplay the seriousness of the question.
It’s all about the principle. During the debate, Scott Brown twice told the audience that if he lost the NH primary (September 8, 2026), he would give Sununu his full support. Sununu did not reciprocate the offer. After the debate, Scott Brown stuck around to meet and talk with the people. Sununu, like at most of his events, dashed out probably to do something more important to him!
The question to New Hampshire voters is: do you want a principled leader like Scott Brown who has stated that he supports President Trump 95% of what he does, but respectfully knows he’s not right all the time? I like that kind of refreshingly honest answer from a candidate who I know has Trump’s ‘Six’ rather than a globalist and lobbyist who wrote an op-ed headlined “Trump is a loser.”
I’m sticking with Scott Brown to WIN!
