Today, on the Morning Update, The People’s Republic of Cambridge, in response to a man (of color) indiscriminately discharging a firearm at cars and cops along a major thoroughfare, has terminated its ShotSpotter contract. They say it’s a privacy issue. They are lying.

Welcome to your Tuesday, May 22nd, 2026, morning update. You remember the brown note that was from last September? On the 19th, we did a morning update on the brown shooting and how they had disabled the cameras because they didn’t want anybody like, I don’t know, ICE noticing who the pro-Palestine anti-Israel protesters were.
They basically sacrificed security to protect potential illegal aliens, potential criminal illegal aliens, that was their motivation. Today, we have another Brown Note.
Remember Tyler Brown. The story’s only a little over a week old. Here’s a reminder.
Tyler was arrested at the age of 16 for armed robbery. He’s had multiple offenses since then, including shooting at police officers in the state of Massachusetts. He is not allowed to have a firearm. Massachusetts also has a 10-round magazine ban and a host of other things that are meant to prevent law-abiding citizens from engaging in any kind of conduct with a firearm, but certainly not people like Tyler Brown, who is alleged to have discharged anywhere from 50 to 60 rounds at moving traffic on the Middlesex Highway in Cambridge.
A week later, special interest groups and others, this is of course the People’s Republic of Cambridge, went to the city council and said, Hey, you should turn off those ShotSpotter microphones you have all over the city, the ones you probably got with a grant from Obama’s Department of Justice in 2014, because of privacy. Well, let’s just clear this up. The People’s Republic of Cambridge, like all far-left entities, has zero interest in your privacy.
In fact, the future, they promise, is impossible without them infringing on it daily and often. Nobody in the Marxist Republic of Cambridge is interested in privacy. So, why a week after a shooting incident where only two people were injured, both seriously, one’s been released, as far as I can tell, the other one is still in the hospital, why get rid of the surveillance system?
From a party that loves the surveillance state, well, there’s a really good reason why.
Activists also raised concerns about the possibility of data from ShotSpotters’ listening technology being shared with federal immigration enforcement officers. Spencer Piston, a Boston University political science professor, said ShotSpotters’ alert could indirectly increase federal involvement if they lead to arrests. Once a person is booked, he said, their fingerprints are entered into a database accessible to federal agencies, including immigration and customs enforcement.
Presumably, this has already happened because shot spotter alerts have led to arrests. Arrests led to fingerprints. Fingerprints are put into the database and the database is accessible by ICE, Piston said. Piston also argued that ICE could potentially obtain Cambridge’s shot spotter data through sound thinking, which he said owns the data collected by the devices and could legally sell it.
So a guy who shouldn’t have a gun. with magazines that shouldn’t have more than 10 rounds. wanders down a street in Cambridge, discharging 50 to 60 rounds of ammunition. He’s a felon. The gun is illegal, he is (engaged in) illegal (activity), the magazine is illegal.
The answer to this problem is that we should make sure that the police can’t find any incidents of discharged firearms in their city, because it might result in ICE agents following the law, doing their job, and removing illegal aliens.
It isn’t about privacy. It’s about protecting criminals.
What more Democrat Party thing in the world is there than that?
That’s it for today. We’ll talk to you tomorrow.
