I have had a handful of reports from folks using Brave browsers that they can’t connect to GraniteGrok. First, we cannot duplicate the problem on our end. Second, one of those readers managed to solve the rproblem form their end.
They had their techie fiddle with the browser settings, and now they have no issue.
We do not know what that fix was, but prior to it, they were getting blocked by Cloudflare, and that is no longer the case.
I asked the internet and got this response:
To fix issues with Cloudflare on the Brave browser, try adjusting your Shields settings by allowing JavaScript and cookies for the specific site, or temporarily disabling Shields altogether. If problems persist, consider using a different browser for sites that rely heavily on Cloudflare.
That didn’t work for me (I don’t typically use Brave, but it blocks the ‘Grok on my laptop). The tab rapidly changes its name from Cloudflare to Page not Found until Grok’s internal firewall blocks it due to excessive Page not Found errors for a human.
I have not figured out the magic settings formula myself. If you do, share it, please. And not everyone is having this issue with Brave, but some folks had issues with other browsers, so it is likely you have a similar situation.
And you could just use a different browser, but we’d like to help fix any issues you have if you prefer Brave.
I will add that no one viewing on mobile has reported any of these problems. No one seems to know why that is.
If you are experiencing connection issues, please check your cookie, JavaScript settings, or other permissions for GraniteGrok. I am also adjusting several firewall settings on my end to stifle false positives that are blocking legitimate traffic. We get many millions of intrusion attempts a day, so we can’t NOT use them, but it appears that there is a happy balance to be had on both ends.
Thanks for your patience.
