MACDONALD: Happy Shutdown Day!

Dems just shut down the government so the guy waving the Mexican Flag, surrounded by rioters and burning cars in LA, could have free health care.

Remember when that narcissistic ass, Barry Obama, signed ObamaCare into law? There was this pause, and he was like, See, nothing happened. But it sure as hell did, and the fallout continues to this very day, and a lot of it is landing on registered Democrats.

Some of the same Democrats refused to agree to any sort of short-term reconciliation (CR) to keep the federal government open unless it included their extortion demands. One of them was funding free healthcare for illegal aliens. Something like a trillion of their 1.5 trillion in demands. Your money to pay for health care for those in the country illegally, or else.

Or else what?

We shut down the government so the guy waving the Mexican Flag, surrounded by rioters and burning cars in LA, could have free health care and some other garbage regular Americans oppose.

I’m not supposed to be as smart as you, and even I saw that coming. You couldn’t vote for a clean CR at Biden-era spending levels, and you just handed Republicans the thing they wanted most.

Shut It Down!

Mid-Term television ads for Republicans for Congress aside, for which there was already ample fodder, the Trump Admin gets to decide what is essential and what can go. He’s already had several injunctions to stop him from firing or laying off government workers overturned, so guess what? [Related: Shutdown Schumer Rides Again]

Happy Shutdown Day!

Last week, the White House Office of Management and Budget released a memo, telling federal agencies that if the government were to shut down, they should consider engaging in Reductions in Force to begin the process of laying off employees in projects that are not funded during the shutdown or that are inconsistent with Trump’s priorities.

Democrats who marched alongside federal government unions in protesting Trump’s efforts to cut the size and scope of the federal government through the Department of Government Efficiency should have considered this when voting against funding the government.

There are plenty of barriers to making any force reductions permanent. The unions want their dues-paying swmap rats reinstated. There’s already one lawsuit. And Democrats will have to justify their heel-dragging or slow walking of the twelve appropriations bills that are needed to put them all back to work. At its root, that is the actual fight. Proper budget writing. Twelve clean budget bills, one for each department, and Democrats appear willing to keep people who donate to their campaigns out of work until they get healthcare for illegals?

What does that look like?

No paychecks for you until the Mexican flag-waving arsonist gets taxpayer-funded health care, and we gut rural hospital funding programs they’d probably need access to if we got our way.

Yes, in the past, furloughed employees got back pay; apparently, this is the law, but that’s not necessarily a given, especially if there is no office to which they might return. If the process takes long enough, if Dems dig in their designer heels, Team Trump, who likely already had a strategy long before we got to October 1st and a shutdown, will make moves the way a ‘Cleaner’ takes care of a crime scene for their deep-pocketed boss on a crime show.

You can pick up a box of stuff at the loading dock (at some other federal building). We took the liberty of cleaning out your desk before giving it to ICE—lots of new workers over there who will put it to productive use.

I guess you should have taken one of the two chances we gave you to self-unemploy with severance. And sorry about your plant, though you could blame Democrats. They were the ones who made your decruitment so easy.

And we’re thinking about erecting a statue of Chuck Schumer. He helped make government small again (MGSA).

That, of course, remains to be seen. The lethargic beast is not so easily slain nor its bits discarded, but it is an opportunity to test what we can do without, and Democrats are entirely to blame.
