Er, see #2 – we did? How much more do WE have to do for you to get anything done? Are you expecting us to do ALL of your heavy lifting for you? Trump was right today to bring up 60 vs 51 votes. This is not a Constitutional issue – the Senate gets to make its own rules.
“That will not happen,” the longtime lawmaker [Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R)] told reporters Tuesday when asked if he would lower the Senate’s 60-vote threshold needed to end debate on legislation to a simple 51-vote majority. “There is an overwhelming majority … not interested in changing the way the Senate operates [on legislation].”
Well, there certainly is an overwhelming majority when you include the Democrats, right? But to us outside of the Beltway, it just seems like one more excuse to hide behind. And we end up with the current spending bill that furthers the Democrat agenda.
