SHOT: ISIS using encrypted communication to remote-control attacks on the west
The New York Times published a story by Rukmini Callimachi today which explains how ISIS handlers are using encrypted communication to remote-control attacks on western nations, including the United States. The attackers, who are often mistaken for lone wolves, have sometimes been trained and guided by ISIS handlers right up to the moment of the attack. One example: The attackers who opened fire on the Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest in Garland, Texas. Remote terror planners have been behind a number of attacks that made international news and which, at first glance, appeared to be the work of lone wolves.
CHASER: Federal employees are using encrypted communications to ‘resist Trump’
Whether inside the Environmental Protection Agency, within the Foreign Service, on the edges of the Labor Department or beyond, employees are using new technology as well as more old-fashioned approaches — such as private face-to-face meetings — to organize letters, talk strategy, or contact media outlets and other groups to express their dissent.
The goal is to get their message across while not violating any rules covering workplace communications, which can be monitored by the government and could potentially get them fired.
So let’s be clear here. Let’s make it crystal clear so no one will miss it. It’ll put it in bold, just in case. What these federal employees are doing is against the law and would justifiably get them fired. So they’re hiding it by using encrypted communications.
This is nothing new for loyal readers of the ‘Grok. For years, it has become clear and evident that the Bureaucracy is sufficiently large and powerful to obstruct anyone in leadership it doesn’t like – an entity in and of itself. And dangerous. And in this case, it is Trump that is in it’s sights.
Sure, some of these are left over Democrat operatives left over from Obama. Er, Clinton? Can I reach back to Carter? But as we have seen, there are the Republican NeverTrumpers mixed in there too. But I think that there is a very large contingent, R or D, of government workers that simply see Trump and his Administration as an existential threat. Already with his Executive Orders, he’s cutting down their numbers (an employment freeze and campaign promise not to replace those that leave) and their power (his O.E that demands two regulations be cast adrift for every new one onboarding).
The Democrats are in outright revolt, calling themselves “The Resistance” (sorta sounds like WWII partisans fighting against Hitler – and no, I’m not about to break Godwin’s Law). And given that the Democrats are the Party of Government and make up most of it, and that current civil service rules protect pretty much any of them that haven’t been convicted of murder (and I’m not willing to bet against THAT either, given some of what certain VA employees have done and not cashiered out), there’s a lot of trouble ahead.
Frankly, if you can’t support your boss, get out. You may not have voted for him, you may not like the policies, you may not like the mandates, and you may not like the legislation he puts forward, supports, or signs, but remember one thing:
You work for us, the public. And he won the Electoral College with a big majority of votes. He won the majority of the States’ Presidential races.
Which means you are revolting against us, the taxpayers.
Which given the current atmosphere, means they don’t care. They feel that the Government is theirs, not ours. We just serve as their ATM machine to work against us. Again, we’ve seen that for decades and is probably one of the reasons why Trump is now President.
What we’ve seen from Trump so far is that he doesn’t act, for better or worse, like a typical politician. He won without the Establishment be it the political one or the Government one. He acts like a business guy which means he moves quickly. And when a business person thinks their firm is in serious trouble, they act – swiftly, decisively, and large.
Hope he cans most of them. Clears house in a way that no one else has DARED to do. He doesn’t have to care – he doesn’t need them for re-election.
