In Bill O’Reilly’s book “Confronting The Presidents,” Bill tells us FDR could have cared less who his Vice President was. Of course, at the time, FDR was nearly on his deathbed, and his Vice-President, whom he met once or twice, was Harry S. Truman, the man who decided to drop the Atom Bomb on Japan to save 20,000 American soldiers’ lives, including my Dad.
They had orders to invade Japan. Additionally, seventeen (17) Vice Presidents have become Presidents of the United States. The Vice Presidency is historically the single most important stepping stone to residency at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
