That was part of an email sent in to Grokster Steve and I. It spurred the immediate question:
Why should it?
What’s its downside from a historical perspective? Conservatives reliably vote for the Republican Party in election after election. We hear the nice words that make us think “hey, s/he’s with us!”. Just as if we’re the GOP version of the blacks and the Democrat Party – the bloc of voters that just keep voting in lockstep regardless of the results.
After all, the TEA Party tried it – wrung out of its votes in 2010 after enduring attack after attack from the Progressives, Socialists, and Democrats, the Republicans started in. Many of those same folks decided that they DIDN’T want a relationship with the GOP after the condescending treatment they received.

If I can’t depend on a Republican leader on important votes and issues, what good are they?
BTW, and for the record – I voted for Aaron Day. She had not earned my vote (and after lying to me/we conservatives) during her 2010 campaign. I haven’t gone to any campaign events this year so all I could depend on were her campaign ads – tissue paper has more heft than the content. If I can’t Trust a candidate, I just won’t vote for them – Kelly Ayotte did not earn my vote either on the argument, the issues, or Trust that I know what her votes would be.
To be honest, it was a painless vote – Maggie is neutered in the US Senate before arrival because the Rs kept it. Ditto for the other Democrat harpies that now make up the NH Federal delegation. We now see 2009 in reverse – the Rs don’t have to pay attention to them at all (especially if McConnell throws the nuclear option that soon-to-be-gone-for good, evil Dirty Harry Reid said that the Dems WOULD be using if they took over.
Now of course, the important question – will she actually start showing up at GOP events or is that sending a letter too hard of a habit to break?
Bonus Question: what do you think Jeb Bush was thinking when he heard that Trump became the President-Elect?
