(Image H/T: Powerline) The primary season is starting to wind down and Bernie Sanders took a pounding in winning only 1 of the 5 primaries last week – he’s mathematically been eliminated. And sure, he has raised a whole lot of money outside of the typical donor class but even that isn’t enough. But like all Socialists, they have no problem in spending all of that other peoples’ money (emphasis mine):

The small-dollar fundraising juggernaut that has kept Bernie Sanders’s insurgent White House bid afloat far longer than anticipated has generated another unexpected impact: a financial windfall for his team of Washington consultants.
By the end of March, the self-described democratic socialist senator from Vermont had spent nearly $166 million on his campaign — more than any other 2016 presidential contender, including rival Hillary Clinton. More than $91 million went to a small group of admakers and media buyers who produced a swarm of commercials and placed them on television, radio and online, according to a Washington Post analysis of Federal Election Commission reports.
…Sanders’s money blitz, fueled by a $27 average donation that he repeatedly touts, has improbably made the anti-billionaire populist the biggest spender so far in the election cycle. The campaign’s wealth has been a surprising boon for vendors across the country who signed on to his long-shot bid.
Money in, money out; did it work? More than likely because who ever thought that an open socialist would get this far and this close to defeating the Clinton Machine? But in all due time, the money peters out (emphasis mine, reformatted):
Sanders campaign begins laying off staff
Bernie Sanders’ campaign started letting hundreds of field staffers go on Wednesday, hours after five states in the Northeast voted and the Vermont senator fell further behind Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic nomination, five people familiar with the situation told POLITICO. It’s not the campaign’s first round of departures, but it’s by far the most significant, coming at a time when Sanders is signaling that he is looking to shape the Democratic platform at the party’s convention, but also insisting he will remain in the race until then.
…Staffers who were working in states that voted Tuesday were told by campaign manager Jeff Weaver to look elsewhere for work rather than continue on to the next voting states, according to people close to the campaign. The news comes as Sanders looks to spend more time in California, which is set to vote in June.
Now this is typical in most campaigns at this level and most operatives understand it. But hey, is this not Bernie, the Socialist, all about democratic socialism, where the workers get a say in how the companies are run? And make no mistake, a campaign legally IS a corporation (of one type or another). So, did Bernie give them a chance to vote on whether they go (to another state) or go (away)? Did the workers decide how the money and resources were to be spent? Yeah, a bit of cynicism here, but it certainly doesn’t appear that Bernie’s talking point principles were put into action here, eh? A hypocrite?
And he’s always railing that companies put profits ahead of people – that the almighty dollar should not be trumping (ayup, intended) people. Yet, it looks like Bernie DID take stock of his dollars and decided that his “stock of people” had to take a haircut “for his greater good”. My, my….walking that talk much?
Or is it just the case that Bernie has run into the fundamental law of economics instead of continuing the lie of Socialism?
