Highest ranking NH Republican not going to GOP Convention? Why not, Kelly?

by

Taking a page out of the NH GOP Chair Jennifer Horn playbook – run away at the first hint that mud may be flying?  Yep, that’s some amount of political courage (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Top Republicans may skip GOP convention: report

A number of top Republicans may skip the Republican National Convention in July, CNN reported Tuesday.
Among the biggest names considering skipping are former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush — a former presidential candidate — and Sens. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) and Richard Burr (R-N.C.), both of who are up for reelection this fall.

How conveeeeenient!  Hey, at least her face will be seen in person for a bit, instead of the multitude of “Reading the Letter from Senator Ayotte is <plug in a name here>” that I’ve saw for years at political event after political event.

Sidenote: is that an even older technology than “just phoning it in” – pen and paper?

Real reason, IMHO?

Some of those who are considering skipping the convention are instead focusing on campaigning at home, the report said. Others don’t want to be tied too closely to a potentially messy presidential nomination fight.  Bush told CNN he doesn’t plan to attend the convention, and Ayotte said it was “unlikely” she’d be in Cleveland.  “I’ve got a lot of work to do in New Hampshire, I have my own re-election and I’m going to be focusing on my voters in New Hampshire,” she said.

‘Bout time.  However, she may find out that with a lot of the NH Conservative base, she’s got a credibility problem on her hands.  After all, contrast what she ran on to originally get elected – and then how she has actually acted?  What is there that would make us believe her, Trust her,  this time?

But why NOT go? It’s not like you’ve taken sides with anyone or endorsed someone (although we know from your screaming meemie spat with Ted Cruz that it is fair to say he isn’t your first choice – leaving you with either “stream of consciousness” Trump or “How different is he from a Democrat” John Kasich (hmm, he is for Amnesty for illegal aliens like Kelly is, though).

Hey, it’s not like when you took sides against the NH GOP Chair when it was Jack Kimball, right?  Or this past fall when you decided to immerse yourself in the race for NH Speaker for the House and ended up getting a Republican Speaker of the NH House elected, pretty much, into that seat by Democrats – Shawn Jasper.  And did you hang your head in shame at the result when the NH GOP censored him?
