Well, here’s to hoping that Obama’s SOTU is as successful as last year’s for actual results

by

The Blaze put together a quick list of 10 things that Obama demanded of Congress but failed to do the shoeleather to actually make happen.  OK, let’s be real – it was chockfull of Expanding Government With Other Peoples’ Money so pretty much these proposals died.  Now with the Republicans owning both the House and Senate, I see little of his spending plans gaining traction.  In fact, I think he’ll have as much success as The Youngest did yesterday during NH’s ice storm here in the northeast – he ended up in the ditch twice (once going down a slight hill and once when trying to go UP a hill and the road ice and Gravity combined to give him a 360 ride back down the hill (thankfully, no injuries to either him or his vehicle; yeah, a happy camper given he waited 2.5 hours the first time for a tow and another hour the second time).

The list:

1. Mixed on Minimum Wage

2. Equal Pay

3. Immigration

4. Obama Asked Congress for Tax Reform Last Year

5. Another Call for Universal Pre-K

6. EITC for Single People

7. Retirement Savings

8. Gun Regulations

9. Voting Rights

10. Surveillance Reform

Text on each one over at the link.  Frankly, what Obama has already unleashed will end up the same way with the Republicans in charge down the street.  He knows that, they know that, and he’ll do it anyways.  It’s the political posturing Kabuki theater he craves – he cannot resist being in the spotlight where he is up front and center.

I REALLY do hope people start in with the catcalls (re: You Lie, which turned out to be true) – if he wants theater, let’s go with the British Parliament which really IS fun to watch and listen to.  And “let me be clear” – Obama the Thin Skinned couldn’t handled it – his inner petulant would be ablaze in moments.
