This mirrors pretty much every poll I’ve seen here in the US – the only people that seem to care about global cooling / global warming / climate change / climate disruption are those that see a way to show their true Watermelonese (Green on the outside, Red on the inside (the FORMER meaning of the color Red) by their insistence that Governments must exert greater controls (in putting in more and more limitations) on their citizens. Thanks to the blog of the irrepressible Hilary Ostrov, a long-time WUWT commenter, I found out about a poll gone either horribly wrong or totally predictably depending on your point of view. It’s a global poll done by the United Nations, with over six million responses from all over the planet, and guess what?
Pretty much the same – people are concerned with personal things that matter in the personal and near term – everyday life (as opposed to some Apocalypse that some wail about a degree rise during the next century). Dead last is “Climate Change” – and I agree with that placement. Humans are the most adaptable creature in the world; we can cope. We get annoyed with others that wish to severely restrict standards of living simply because of a religious belief or blind adherence in the models that can’t even track current temps (pretty much has been well under the lower bounds of the model predictions).
