Ice Caps Growing And Now Record Crop Output?

beaufort-sea iceI’m not saying there’s no climate change, heck, day before yesterday it was freezing cold in the AM and this morning it was a bit warmer.  Something changed.

Ski resorts were testing their snow guns in mid September, that’s change.  It’s happened before.  Once,or twice.  And I am not here to bury ‘Caesar’ but to praise him, (‘Caesar’ being global warming, for those not following); that anthropogenic plague on the planet that is not making it warmer, might be doing nothing, or might be making it cooler, or maybe none or all of the above, (also known as weather to the a-political) has resulted in some spectacular and beneficial circumstances in recent years.

Jeanne Shaheen, just a few years ago, was scaring us with the notion of a tourism collapse, from poor leaf-peeping to snow-less winters.  But she’s just saying that to get Green from the Big Green because political speech is expensive, even though she also says we need to get that sort of money out of politics.  What that really means is “money out of politics” opposed to her own.  Opinion opposed to her own is hate speech.  You send the IRS dogs after those people.  As for Snow, we’ve been having some awesome Ski seasons in New Hampshire, complete with the jobs and extra tax revenue that goes with it.

Yeah Global Warming!

Maple Syrup production has been very good since “Global Warming” became a prominent Democrat scare tactic, revenue cudgel, and fundraising theme.  The Ice sheets are expanding, some at record rates.  And now, thanks to it not being all that warm after all, the American Midwest is whining about how their profits (and food prices which have been soaring since Shaheen got to DC) are going to drop because they’ve got too damn much corn, and soybeans, and grain.

Well there’s a problem.  Soaring cereal and meat prices coupled with fed induced inflation have doubled middle Class grocery bills while the one-per-centers at Jeanne Shaheen Inc., have an extra 50 to 100 grand to invest in the 4th largest oil company on the planet.  Oil?  Oil??  A company fined for bribing Iranians, if that matters.  I wish I had some disposable income to invest in an oil company in France instead of cutting back on everything to feed my family.

No need to begrudge her family’s good fortune, but the hypocrisy and her political agenda’s impact on mine is troubling.

So Shaheen’s got first first-world problems, like what industries to help grow and expand (in contradiction to her political rhetoric) and then; how can she use the force of government to silence her political opponents who  might notice her hyporisy?

Meanwhile, the actual middle class benefits when food prices drop and framers earn less profits (insert comparisons to greedy CEO’s here), something that might make the Shaheen’s of the world look for more upscale venues to buy their food.  “I wouldn’t get caught dead paying so little for brioche, what if someone I knew saw me?”

When prices drop tens of millions of people save a ton of money on food that they can then spend on other things, a rule that also applies to gasoline prices–something Democrats are quick to point out until the prices are high (and stay that way for years) on their watch.

I’m sure Jeanne has legislation in a drawer somewhere to make sure a few farmers can keep screwing the other 313.899999 million Americans who are not farmers, but that’s not my point.

My point is this.  That if we were to take all the predictions made by Democrats getting rich off green energy and climate alarmism, we’d discover that they got richer, but none of the bad things they predicted actually happened.   Most of the things they said would happen didn’t or went the other way, with the exception of your money being spent on the higher price of things made to cost more by liberal energy (money and farm) policy and the boondoggle tax dollars pocketed by their progressive cronies.

Think about that as (or when) we have fuel shortages in the winter-time because the Global Warming folk insisted on hamstringing fossil fuels, or the occasional rolling blackout shuts your furnace down because the green capacity we don’t have to replace the coal energy they did away with, can’t meet real world demand.

My suggestion?  Save those Democrat mailers and burn them to keep warm, oh, and vote for a Republican.  They may not be perfect but they wont let you starve and then freeze to death as a sacrifice for their can’t be disproved’ climate religion off which they all manage to get or stay rich.   They’ll also try to expand domestic energy production without your money, creating jobs and growth.
